has anyone been able to get diddy kong racing to work in anything but single player mode?  I am able to do the single player fine, but as soon as more than one person is playing, it can't seem to figure out what to do with the split screen.  My Mario Kart works fine split screen, but this game does not.  Does anyone else have some insight into this?

That's bizarre, I tried it again with 1964 and got the same results (I left all the settings to default).  One player works fine, but as soon as the screen has to split it basically stretches the top screen into both frames and then player 2 can't see what they are doing.  I can't be the only person that has this problem with diddy kong racing, has anyone else experienced this and if so has anyone figured out how to fix it?

Are there various versions of diddy kong available?  Maybe mine does not work (I wonder).  Any help or insight is much appreciated...

I thought I would quick post about that Diddy Kong Racing problem I was having in case anyone else was having the same problem (multi player was not working).  I got it working last night by just grabbing a different rom of the same game.  Weird thing is now multiplayer works, but surreal doesn't recognize the rom to load the box art picture.  The old rom that didn't work right did load the box art picture.

If you have diddy kong racing and multi player is not working (the split screen stretches so you can't see the other players screens), go find a different rom.

I need some help getting virtual pro wrestling working.  It boots to a black screen but I can hear audio.  I've heard of a few ppl who have this rom and says it works fine with surreal 64.  Any ideas on what settings I need to configure to get this to work right?   thanks

Emulator Version: Surreal 1.0
Rom Version: Zelda no Densetsu - Mujura no Kamen [j] [!]
Rom Settings: Default

1964:
After rescuing the Deku Princess, if you go to the left of the village, there's a Deku there that you chase.  If you make it through the maze, you get the pig mask.  W/ that, you get the blue medicine, and with that (later in the game) you get quite a bit of stuff.  Well, the damn thing freezes when you walk into the maze.  I tried different days, different masks, and different items.  It either freezes, or best case scenario, you lose video.  Either way, that part of the game is out.

EDIT: Added Rom Info
Also -- you can get the blue potion elsewhere I see after reading a FAQ... just have to do it another way.

Actually, with a little tweaking, you can get it to run (albeit VERY slow).  Just put a few more megs in the dyna memory instead of video (I think that's what I did).  It will take you probably 10 minutes just to finish it, but it's possible, and you get the mask.

Hey, thanks for the info.  I'll try that out.

Have you played through the end of the game?  I'm on the moon.  I go through the cut scene, and when I'm supposed to wake up in a field, the game is running, but the screen is blank.  The weird thing is I can see my items, lifebar, etc., and the menus show up when I press start, but can't see anyting else.  It's all black.  Can't finish the game this way. sad.gif

Have you tried the "trick" noted in the comments field in the compablity list?

i can confirm that the trick works, and the game runs really smoothly with 1964
