Umm, The zelda games on the 64 can hardly be considered childish, is there a possability that you just suk at them? Try Perfect Dark or a different console.

Try Shadowman. I remember it working quite well on PJ64 on my PC but haven't tried it on Xbox. Repetitive, but cool game. I love the joke during the end boss fight! wink.gif

To be frank, the "kiddish" games are some of the better software for the Nintendo 64.  While I did play a bit of Tetris with friends once we got Surreal up and running on a friend's Xbox, there was more Diddy Kong Racing and Mario Kart played than anything else.

But some of the few that worked well on the Xbox that I've played:

BattleTanx 2:  If you can stand the iffy controls (its really sensitive on the emulator), its a fun tank deathmatch game.  Since we couldn't get Goldeneye to work correctly on my Xbox, this was the deathmatch game of choice.

Extreme-G: fast F-Zero-ish racer.  Looks great on 1964.

Forsaken:  better in deathmatch than it is a singleplayer game.  Impressive graphics for the Nintendo 64; looks really good in 1964.

Sin & Punishment: the first stage is glitchy, after that (at least to the 3rd stage) the game plays and looks wonderful.

The Next Tetris: one of the best versions of Tetris available, with great background music, and 4-player compatibility.

Resident Evil 2 was ported for the N64....but unfortunately it doesn't work on the emu's yet.
WCW/nWo Revenge I really liked too....but again....it's unplayable on these emu's.
Are sports games considered kiddy?  NHL '99 (i think it was '99 at least...) was always fun

Agreed.
I bought a Playstation when they came out because the graphics were superior to the N64.  I soon learned that I shouldn't have doubted Nintendo.  For some reason I just didn't like the games on the PS nearly as much as the ones on the N64.  What it didn't have in graphics....it more than made up for in the hit titles it came out with.  Nintendo always had the good gameplay...which I value a lot more than graphics.

I'm getting the same thing now with the Gamecube.  I love my Xbox and all that I can do with it....and when the Gamecube came out I thought it was gonna be really stupid.  Once again I shouldn't have doubted Nintendo.  Their console is the cheapest one you can buy....and look at the titles it has already.  Mario Kart, Zelda, Sonic....there are more that I can't think of off the top of my head.  While the graphics can't compare to the Xbox or PS2....the games hold their own.  If I wasn't a poor college kid I'd have bought a gamecube by now.  I have to learn to stop doubting Nintendo's products....

So "blood" makes a game more "adult"? Gimme a break  laugh.gif

I don't care one way or another if it's there, but something having blood doesn't automatically appeal to me and I'm 35.  And I have no problems playing a game of Banjo Kazooie either.   Ever notice that those who care whether a game is "kiddy" or not are usually just out of being kids themselves (i.e. 15-20's) rolleyes.gif

But yeah, N64 wasn't exactly the place to go for that type of fix. But in a pinch: Perfect Dark for starters, and of course Resident Evil, and who can forget CONKER'S BAD FUR DAY  jester.gif

Another little odd game someone may have left out...

Hybrid Heaven.  This was a decidedly odd game.  It had some of the presentation style that Metal Gear Solid did, but is essentially an RPG wrestling game with a sci-fi plot.  It's REALLY hard to describe, but I enjoyed it for the time that I played it.  Just don't go with the hi-res mode, the frame rate tanks and makes it darn near unplayable.

Someone else already suggested Perfect Dark, and I agree with the choice.  Great game.  My brother likes it tons more than Goldeneye.

The Killer Instinct game was pretty decent, too.

Oh yeah, and Rogue Squadron and Battle for Naboo are two of the best Star Wars flight games ever made.

The second Castlevania game for N64 was not NEARLY as bad as everyone says, I enjoyed it immensely.  It was what the first one should've been.

Lastly, play some Ogre Battle 64.  Great, great strategy game there.  And it has a very mature, FF Tactics style storyline.

That's all I can think of right now.  I'm sure there's more, but I tend to go for something as long as its good, regardless of the kiddiness.  Which makes me recommend Paper Mario.  smile.gif

And I can't understand why so many people love Tetris so much...  *Sarge braces himself for flaming retribution*  Guess I'm too much of a RPG / action / fighting weenie.  Although Mario Picross is really good stuff for the original GB.  biggrin.gif

Sarge out.

some games that kick ass:
turok 2,3(1 kicks ass as well but not playable on surreal64)
castlevania(the first one only, the person that recommended the second must have problems)
army men games(air combat kicks ass and seems to run almost perfectly on surreal64)
Hydro Thunder, Off Road Challenge, Polaris  Sno Cross(all good racing games)

I don't feel that a game has to have blood in it to be a good game, I was just makeing a point with an extreme example.  Also, I'm 31 years old.  I play games all the time that are for all ages (pg2,ncaa football, and rally sport are all killer).  I am just not the kind of guy you will see in the park flipping bird seed at my friends pretending that it is magic fairy dust.  BAM you are now a frog.  As I've tried to explane, I not here to tell you that you are a child if thats what you are into (to each their own).  However, it would be cool if a game was good and had lots of blood. lol.  Thanks for all the feedback and I will try some of these games.
