can anyone help me? i compiled a iso with c xbox tools using the default.xbe included with the emu i put all the n64 roms in the roms folder and burned it to disc, i am using the unleashx dashboard and when i launch the dvd and via the file browser and select default.xbe, i get the loading screen but it resets and goes back to the unleashx dashboard, what am i doing wrong?

i also selected the patched default.xbe and i got the same results, when i selected the project 64 and UltraHLE.xbe it hangs on the loading screen and i have to reset the xbox.

Have you tried patching the xbe's yet? (you will have to patch all of them).
Try using DEXBE for this. There are also a number of other programs that can do this.

(make sure to back up your xbe's BEFORE patching them too...)

Hope this helps.

I just installed the newest version and am seeming to have some trouble getting it to use known/default emulator settings.

I installed the program on my xbox, then I renamed all roms to proper sizes and zipped them.  At this point, whenever I select any ROMS, it doesn't highlight the good emulator setting.  3 years ago the emulator I had did this, but now it does not.  What am I missing?

Thanks.

I'm having a really weird problem with Surreal. I deleted a bunch of roms and put some new ones on my Xbox, but all the ones I deleted are still showing up on my games list and the new ones I just put on there aren't showing up, and none of the roms are working now. I deleted the emulator and reinstalled it, and only put a couple roms on it but all the games I had on there before are still showing up, and none of them work still.

Did you refresh your rom list?

In Surreal XXX, I think you push the yellow button on your controller (it says onscreen somewhere)
In Surreal (v1.0/FDB) you click on the bottom right hand symbol onscreen.

Hopefully this may help....

Refreshing it updated the rom list and it's now showing all the correct games, but none of the games still work. When I try to play a game it freezes up on the loading rom screen.

I would delete the stuff in here /E/TDATA/a64fea57 and try again... maybe the respective udata folder as well, as I don't know the difference. Most likely if you start over with a new .ini file things would work.

True true....

And kudos to competes2win for telling you the exact folder.   I wouldn't have known off the top of my head what it was.

That will work for you.  If you got the emu from the usual spot it works 100 percent of the time every time.  Sometimes you gotta do a reinstall of everything because something was botched for whatever reason, but I have two XBox 1.6's and I lucked into an XBox 1.0 on accident and there is no difference between compatibility with the two.  Any compatibility hurdles you've ever read about scouring for info on the scene is outdated and the masters, most of which seem long gone now, have already fixed all of that.

Good luck, and if you have more problems just post..

~Rx

P.S.  for whoever....

Maybe it would be a good idea to make a post and get it stickied that has all of the save folders in TDATA and UDATA for future reference for noobs and experts alike?  Just a thought...

ok so this is really buggin me because surreal used to work perfect on my xbox and now when i try to load a game it loads it up really slow (happens with every single game) . I am not sure what has changed if anything but its really frustrating me. i have tried it from unleashX, and XBMC same problem. i have tried deleting all the files redownloading them and reftping them. didn't work. tried deleting the tdata surreal.ini file. i have no idea what to try next. btw my NES, Genesis, and snes emulators still work perfectly. Not only does it load slow it plays slow... i can't even get majora's mask to work anymore. my xbox also seems to sound funny right when it starts loading a rom up. they are all unzipped. is it possible some or all of my roms have become corrupted?? they all load but everything is just super slow.
