It seems to me that if you're running on 1.0 you should be fine. I was using 1.0 and the roms kept on black screening on load but it was something to do with my ftp client not transferring files correctly. Now that I fixed that everything seems to be fine.

Hi I can't get surreal to find any roms.

I downloaded Surreal 1.0 from xbits.

I have a softmodded xbox.

Surreal Loads find but no games are listed.

I have placed the roms in a "/roms/' subfolder in the base of the surreal dir.

My .ini has been edited to
Rom Path=D:\Roms\
Media Path=D:\Media\

There is a number of other settings in the ini folder such as
"[001A3BD0-AFB3DE1A-C:46]
Game Name=TARZAN
Alternate Title=Disney's Tarzan (F) [!]
Comments=Playable - No Sound
Preferred Emulator=0

[0198A651-FC219D84-C:50]
Game Name=FIFA 99
Alternate Title=FIFA 99 (E) [!]
Comments=Playable - Slightly slow"

etc.... is this a problem?

My Roms are in .zip files and in .7z files, is this a problem?

It does not seem to find a single ROM.

I have replaced the ini file in the somethingsomething64 folder in the TDATA and now I have compleatly removed both the 64 directory in TDATA and UDATA...Still does not work, I even deleted everything and started over...Still nothing!

O.K... Here is my problem, I have the surreal emu on my xbox, when I try to ftp the roms to my roms folder I get transfer failed. I can't get them to go to my xbox? Please help!

What FTP program are you using?

^^ I ended up answering my own question, you can't have the files zipped I guess, so I need to manualy extract like 5k files

FlashFXP.....I can transfer other roms though, just not N64.

guys guys guys, your roms wont transfer because the filenames contain stuff that the xbox can't read,
check the stickied thread for more information about that and faqs on how to correctly mass unzip/rename/rezip your roms.

I am seriously in need of some help. I have got everything working with Surreal64 on multiple version with the following huge exception:

I cannot get the ROMs to load at all. The menu comes up and locates all of the files and provides me with what looks to be full functionality including loading the file to 100%. However, after the file gets to 100% loaded it goes to a black screen and it sounds like my XBOX is idle and I have to reboot my console. The ROMs all work just fine on my PC under a PC emulator but not on my Xbox console. I have been searching through forums and trying different things all day and I for the life of me cannot figure this out.

As far as I can tell there are no issues with files, etc. unless my ROMs are bad. However, they work on my PC just fine.

PLEASE HELP!

Hi i downloaded the newest Surreal64 xxx B5 and it won't load at all it keeps going back to the dash everytime I start it I read the readme and still haven't been able to figure it out any hel would be greatly appreaciated thanx

Hmm I'm not sure that is the case for me. So supposedly we can run zipped file with surreal? I had a zipped file name "Starfox64.zip" Surreal does not find it. However if I unzip, then it works fine.
Just an example I have also tried with ALOT of others...

The homepage just says coming soon but I think it's been like that for ages. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I don't think that they use the Surreal site at all. and yes, it has been there for ages! They will probably just keep upadating it through the program we use to ftp.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe that this emulator is being updated anymore for the XBox.
