The Problem isn't that i can't load the roms, but i can't load the whole program.

I had installed Surreal64 on the F:/Apps/Surreal64

and had the
CODE

[Settings]
Rom Path=F:/Apps/Surreal64/Roms
Media Path=F:/Apps/Surreal64/Media

Because i installed it on the F: drive.

Both didn't work.
I did set those path's in -> /E/TDATA/a64fea57/Surreal.ini

But i did have to put that file there manually, it did create it from itself.

k.

You need to listen to my directions, and follow them exactly before posting. Simply do as i said, and it should be all good.

If its not, then we will work from there.

Keep it exactly where it is.

Make both of those paths D:\Roms and D:\Media in the /E/TDATA/a64fea57/Surreal.ini  file, launch and refresh.

I finally got surreal to work by patching the .xbes.
The first thing i noticed was that F-zero comes up "is expansioj pk inserted correctly?" on the title screen. Is there a wat to toggle the (virtual) n64 memmory pak on or off?
Also, I scanned my roms with the advised programs and F-zero showed up as  aworkin grom o.k, but my Sin and punishment and Super smash brothers didn't show up atall in the rom verifying programs even though they seem to be names correctly and I've used the roms with N64 emus on my pc.
Can anyone help?

Click on the left analog stick to toggle between mem pak and rumble.

As far as scanning roms goes, if they were not put in the N64Ren folder, they they are unknown roms. I dont doubt they work on your pc, but they might give you unwanted results in Surreal64 ..or will not play at all. Find a (U) [!] dump.

i tried booting from D (DVDR) and freeze in loading screen.. i edited .ini pointing to D and patched with craxtion all the xbes too. any sugestion??

can u help me Iriez?? plzz

thanks

My only suggestion is to simply read my first post. I dont know why anyone cannot just read it....its baffling.

From the first post...

QUOTE
Are you using a old modchip such as xecuter 1, or enigmah/xtender? - Try patching first (all your xbe files)with dexbe to retail, and if that doesnt work your going to need to use Phoenix Bios Loader (PBL) to boot another bios into memory before launching. This will not go into support for using PBL. Please use at your own descretion.

People who cannot get it to load by patching with dexbe should also try xbe patcher

See how i recommended dexbe first? Thats because its had the most success. Where dexbe didnt work, xbe patcher did, and i've yet to hear of a single person getting it working with craxtion. So i'll just remove craxtion, because for some insane reason it seems to be everyones favorite. Why..when it doesnt work...i dont know.

This leads me to conclude that you didnt read it, or did not pay attention to it. The post specifically says to use dexbe, and if that doesnt work to use xbe patcher. If that doesnt work, it specifically says to use PBL. Now, why does someone post with only trying one option? Dont you know im just going to repeat what is already obvious?

Are you running a 4977 bios? (One thats been patched for lba48) Or 4978? Both are known to cause issues -
Reflash with a evox bios, or 4976.06 or 4979.06/67 +

Just wanted to clear this up,  you mean X-ecuter bios instead of evox which is the dashboard and 3935 is the latest I believe.

Hey guys Surreal64 aint working for me... It plays fine when I load Mario 64, Lylat Wars and Mario Kart 64 in the UltraXLE but they dont run in 1964 or project64.... (all I get is sound)..... I downloaded some more roms (Goldeneye, Castlevania, Zelda OOT and more) and I tried running them all on all three emulators.... Well all I got was sound in 1964 and Project 64 again but UltraXLE wouldnt boot them.... Can somebody please tell me whats going on with Surreal?? I really want Goldeneye and Zelda to run...

Once again, i REPEAT.

This is NOT a game bug thread. This is NOT a thread to help you past getting surreal to load. You obviously have no problems whatsoever *running* surreal, so do not post in this thread. There is a buglist thread...go find it and post there.

Clicking on the left analogue stick does nothing when I try, it doesn't switch on the Memmory expansion pak.
Also, is there a way to have the rumble and the expansion pack on at teh same time?

You downloaded the leak, not the v1.0 . We will not offer any support to you.

No, you cannot have both at the same time.

Anyways for my Surreal64 experience. I tried it out last night since I found time to play with the xbox a little. Surreal hung as expected with both a 4977 and 4976.02 X2 bios patched with big F support. I didn't have enough time last night to go through creating a new BIOS  but will try later this week.

So is anyone else having problems running the 4980.06 and 4980.67 BIOS with Surreal? I just saw one person above who mentioned the new 4980 bios...

Dang you guys are tiring Iriez all out. I just got the emulator and have had no problems. Just mess around with things and you will figure it out. Its very simple and easy to understand. Anyways I would just like to say that this emulator has surprised me and I am satisfied greatly. I don't think this emulator is going to get that much better than it is because right now its just AWESOME! I hope the author continues this project to get it near perfect and he will then get much props!  wink.gif
