Sounds like a hardware issue. A bad power supply or bad HD can cause your xbox to freeze randomly.

You'll find out if its the PS though, it will catch on fire soon enough ; )

QUOTE (Iriez @ Jan 7 2004, 04:15 PM)
You need to change it to be Rom Path=F:Pathtoyourroms . If you are putting the roms in the 'roms' folder inside your surreal64 install dir, then make the Rom Path=D:Roms

I find this part to be confusing. So if my install dir for Surreal64 is:

F:EmulatorsSurreal64

and I put the ROMS folder in the Surreal64 folder (F:EmulatorsSurreal64ROMS)

then my roms path should be:

Path=D:Roms        ???

not

F:EmulatorsSurreal64ROMS  ???

Would this causer Surreal not to launch or just not find roms, since launching surreal freezes at the dashboard loading screen?

It could be either, as both point to the correct path.

D: becomes the root directory of the xbe that is launched, so if its in F:\blah\who\caressurreal.xbe

Then F:\blah\who\cares\ will become D:\

So if you set it at D:\Roms , it would be F:\blah\who\caresRoms (in this example)

Its better to leave it at D:\Roms because the less configuration, the less chance for mistakes.

yar... ok .. i have a version 1.0 xbox, Evox M7ej FC BIOS, Evox 3921 Dash, and a matrix chip. Surreal loads fine. It detects my one rom (Mario 64). I click the box art, and the three emulator options come up. No matter which one I choose, the same thing happens:

it saves the rom settings, loads the rom (percentage goes up to 99%), the screen goes black and the machine freezes.

I've tried launching the emulator from the dash and from the file explorer...same thing. The rom works like a charm on my computer.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have been trying the larger games they seem to be freezing. I tried Conquer' BFD and Resident Evil 2. Both of these games are very big. Is that why its freezing. I'm using EvoX slayer, but I have the original Xbox Hard drive in there. Can anyone help?

Ok guys, heres the situation.

You NEED to post which rom version you are using. Use GOODN64 as described in the FIRST post to identify which rom you have.

I cannot offer ANY help unless you tell me exactly which rom you are using.

The correct names are...Conker's Bad Fur Day (E) [!], Resident Evil 2 (E) [!],  Mario Party (U) [!] , and Mario Tennis (U) [!].........these are won't work for me on Surreal 64...I've also tried them all in .zip and .v64 format.

conkers bad fur day, mario party and mario tennis all work.

What memory settings are you using? Launching from evox ? Which emulator are you choosing to try to play it?

What bios are you running? Or are you running a software exploit?
