Schibo seems to be under the misimpression that it was ported as past of the old Xbins "contest". I guess he dosn't realise that Lantus already "won" that for PJ64X, and that 1964 was never entered into or part of the contest. I guess worse case is he might not release the source code in a huff. That's his right, of course.

In the above link to the 1964 message board, Schibo states:
"Perhaps the porter would care to explain why he felt the need to do this completely behind our back."

This is just inflamatory, a misunderstanding that needs to be nipped in the bud now, it's none of our business and certainly no place in these forums where fickle people will rip into Schibo. It would be best if this thread was deleted.

I didn't want to cut into the middle of their 'talks' over on that forum but I noticed something that maybe should be pointed out.  Schibo says that this was done behind his back but look at THIS thread.  Odd stated back in November that he was working on this.

I know that 1964 is GPL'd. I also remember the hoops that Guybrush had to go through to get the ScummVM team to "approve" his derivative work. Ender apparently read a 40 page fax of the XDK's EULA to make sure it wouldn't violate the GPL before he'd "approve" it. Maybe Schibo has similar concerns. Or maybe he just feels disrespected by not being told. This isn't a flame war, it's just another topic on respect. Just because it isn't about KawaX or leaks of Surreal64 dosn't mean it should be closed.

Wah waaah waaaahh.

Dumb thing to say buddy.  The current state and future of Surreal depends on this guy willing to share his sources, so show him some respect.

He gets my respect but if all he's gonna do is whine and cry, screw him.

Seems a bit contrary to me to declare a project open-source and then get annoyed when somebody does something with the source.
