I'm probably going to get flak for saying this (about a great idea), but this list is nearly worthless in it's present state. I've seen at least a half-dozen comments that I disagreed with, few people are listing the rom name (and not just the name of the game) or the settings they're using, and there is far too much use of the word "perfect" (apparently a "perfect" rom can run with gfx glitches, low speeds, and a whole slew of other problems).
I think this list should be trashed, and restarted. I don't even know about the colors, since it seems to tempt people into putting something in a category it should not be in.
Not wanting to completely piss on everyone's parade, I'm going to post a little bit of information on my experience with Surreal 64, which is largely inspired by inaccurate posts (or posts lacking in information) I've seen about games I've played myself:
Beetle Adventure Racing! (U) [!] (verified through Good N64)
I did fairly extensive testing with all of emulators and settings, but only on two of the game's tracks. I also did not test multiplayer. I found optimal settings to be:
Project 64
Azimer Audio Plug-in
Max Video Memory = 4
Dynarec Memory = 20
Paging Memory = 8 The game runs the intro
video choppy. Once in-game, I played with a full grid of CPU racers. The framerate would hover around the
15-20fps range. I ran into some
stuttering occasionally, especially when colliding with other vehicles. The game runs at a
significantly slow rate (easily noticed, since the lap time did not sync with real time), but I did not run into any crashes. There were a few
glitched/missing texture problems (see: the castle area on every lap of "Coventry Cove"), but nothing rampant. As far as I can tell, there were
no audio issues.
That's about as far as I got with the game since,
in my opinion, the game did not run fast enough for it to be worth playing.
I'm not going to add anything else yet, since I prefer to do some thorough testing before submitting anything here. But I will add, for now, that I have played a bit of
Blast Corps (U) (V1.1) [!] with Project 64, several times. It does zip through the intro, but with different settings it will not lock up (
Max Video Memory = 4, Dynarec Memory = 16, Paging Memory = 4). The analog sensitivity makes it difficult to start a game, and once you do start everything is moving way too fast (accompanied by some absurdly high framerates), but it does work. Just not very well.
