Entirely wrong.

The audio plugins were switched/changed around to increase compatibility (e.g. turok)

Mem pak / rumble pak switching was added to increase compatibility (some games could not start due to rumble inserted / mem pak missing)

It apparently runs with 1964 (someoen suggested using Hacks RSP plugin) with Rice's daedalus plugin, but is unplayable/unejoyable.

It probably wont run on the xbox for a very long time..if ever.

I remember having a tough time with this one on the PC... Even using a 3dfx card with all different available plugins about a year ago. Ultimately I put this one in the "not playable" category  sad.gif

I have lost the last 2 evenings to the N64! And tonight is looking to not be any different... Like the rest of the members of the scene, I am watching the news page waiting for v1.01 to be released to see if it is possible for this emu to run even better  beerchug.gif

Thanks for the insane amount of support you provide to the emu scene here on xbox-scene Iriez... You posts have cleared things up for me countless times now  wink.gif

This emulator is aptly named.  It is, in fact, surreal.  Awesome work fellas.

Resident Evil 2 loads strangely ( 64% -> 4% ) and gives black screen

That is what Conker does for me... It is the (U) [!].usa rom, and verified by goodn64... Plays fine on the PC (as fine as Conker plays, that is!).

Perhaps I need to stray from the "default" settings for this rom for a while and see if I can get it running  wink.gif

Okay, I've solved this problem. Conker runs with the default settings from RC2 but not with the default settings for 1.0 - The problem is with the audio plugin. You can either switch the star from Azimer to Pj Rsp under "Configure Rom Specific Settings" or remove the line

Use LLE RSP=o

from your /E/TDATA/a64fea57/Surreal.ini file under the settings for the (U) [!] version.

Makes me suspect that many other games are crashing on me over the audio. Will tinker with it. (note: the loading screen still does the 62% -> 4% error )

CODE
[30C7AC50-7704072D-C:45]
Game Name=CONKER BFD
Alternate Title=Conker's Bad Fur Day (U) [!]
Comments=Playable - Textures
Preferred Emulator=1
1964 Paging Mem=8
Max Video Mem=0

I don't have "Use LLE RSP=o" except under the "Default" at the top of the INI...

However, in the emu, when I switch from Azimer to PJ audio it at least starts now, just the FPS is sssslllllooowww  biggrin.gif

Cool, at least I know it is not my ROM for sure now  beerchug.gif

The default settings section of my Surreal.ini (in the tdata/a64fea57 dir) looks like this:

Rom Path=E:Emulatorssurreal 64Roms
Media Path=E:Emulatorssurreal 64Media
Default Controller Config=00,01,02,03,08,09,0A,0B,04,05,06,07,0C,10,11,16,0D,17,00,01,02,03,08,09,0A,0B,04,05,06,07,0C,10,11,16,0D,17,00,01,02,03,08,09,0A,0B,04,05,06,07,0C,10,11,16,0D,17,00,01,02,03,08,09,0A,0B,04,05,06,07,0C,10,11,16,0D,17
Default 1964 Dyna Mem=8
Default 1964 Paging Mem=4
Default PJ64 Dyna Mem=16
Default PJ64 Paging Mem=4
Default Use LLE RSP=1
Default Use Basic Audio=0
Default Max Video Mem=5

Conker runs acceptably fast with a few texture problems. Going to see about getting some other games to run a little better with slight tweaks.

Anyone had any trouble with Mario Tennis?
I get white squares under each player and randomly around the tennis court as well.
Plus there a box in the left hand top corner that comes up from time to time with lighning in it.
Also if you choose the grass court the game freezes up early on.
Or if you choose Diddy Kong at times he'll go to smash the ball and all these purple squares come flying out of his racket.
It may be just a bad rom but if anyone else had had trouble with it I'd like to know.

So how do I fix this, I'am using Surreal64 so I assumed all the latest software versions were used.
Do I now have to find the Rice plugins from somewhere and replace the current ones?
The only program I've seen with these is PJ64 so do I put anything new in there or somewhere else?
Yes I know I sound like a vegie but I have no idea with this stuff.
Thanks for any help given.

Alright....now I'am really confused...first you say its already been fixed in the latest version then you say you dont fix it you wait for it to be fixed. Isnt that a bit of a contridiction?
I'll go to Xbins and have a look but to be honest I have no idea what your answers mean, anyone want to translate them for me?

This emu is great, anybody that spends so much time on a project like this and then generously shares it with others deserves to be thanked. Thank you to everyone involved in the project. This is great....
