XPort has his sources in the same place you get his emulators.

All I know is that lantus is the person who's porting it, and is working pretty closely with the PC emulator creator.
He's done a damn good job porting it, and very recently gave us a big upgrade to the emulator. Therefore, there is essentially no real reason for it to be open source. I'd only hope it to become open source if for some reason lantus decided to stop the project forever and not update it again.
But also realize that there is the possibility that the PC emulator coders don't want the source to be released, and lantus is respecting their wishes.
For what the actual reason is, he'd have to tell us so we'd know for sure.

Why is he an Asshat for not wanting to realease his sources? He helps with the PC version of snes9x as far as I remember, so unless the original author asked him to realease it I don't see why he should.

Not wanting to release his sources is perfectly fine and understandable, it's the arrogant prick part that makes him an asshat for it.

Seriously, if lantus were just polite to people and didn't make a point of being rude and arrogant on a consistent basis, I'd maybe actually respect him like I do some of the other programmers, but as it stands, he's always come across to me as the biggest jerk in the scene.

EDIT - Look, asshat's probably a bit strong of a word as I'm not trying to overtly flame lantus and doing so isn't likely to change the way he treats us mortals, but what does, "because i can?" say about him? It tells me that he'd rather be full of it than just give a damn honest answer, which likely is that the PC authors (one of which is himself as I recall) don't want him releasing the source (although how did the other Snes9x X emu come into being? That was before my time, so I don't know about that one so much). I wouldn't say anything about it if this were a one time thing or a rare instance, but I get this vibe from him and see this attitude a lot.
