its not only about the Interface, Ions is a bit much, look in the CVS tree there you can see when the last change was, sometime in june or so.
I already started a tread about uae o X, don´t know why the Amiga got the corner to sit in.
When someone is working on it, than I think he/she would first talk about it when its released. I hate to hope.

I think we all know that demanding something from Xport or any author is not the way to get it.

But it's very true that the Xbox is tragically in need of a decent Amiga emulator. And I think Xport immediately jumps to mind because of his excellent work on WinSTon-X, the emulator for the Amiga's rival system. No other author makes their ports so configurable, and I think this is what us Amiga fans are longing for.

Personally I think it will happen someday. Xport has done ports of existing emus before (like VBA), when the current release is generally regarded as inadequate. And eventually enough time will pass to show that UAE-X isn't going anywhere or Christophe (r0n) will have the decency to say he's officially dropped the project. I'm sure that Xport would at least give such a project some consideration in either of these events.

All we can do is wait and see...

It's time for someone to pick up rons work and actually develop this port into something worthwhile, at the moment it's a fucking mess in need of some loving.

great, so hows your port coming along?

I disagree that someone should pick up UAE-X.  A port of WinUAE would be so much better than the version UAE-X is taken from.

Much like the Frodo/Vice situation. A different source should have been ported from the start - and eventually was. happy.gif

I think we have to stop crying and begging and see what will come,
not that we chase away(?) someone who is thinking about doing a great job.

what would you have done if there wasnt an Amiga emulator until now ?

LOL, if there wasn't already an Amiga emu, Xport would have ported one. He's said as much himself.  biggrin.gif

"It's about time XPORT took the project up"

where do people get off demanding such things, for gods sake xport has singlehandedly bought you about 15 emus for the xbox and u demand he ports the amiga emu for you?

what if he doesnt want to, the amiga was only succesful in europe, if xport is american he wont have ever used one,

if you want a new amiga emu, go make one

I beg to differ, while the 8088 might have been the killing blow for the aminga, the amiga in it's own right was unrivaled in video/audio in it's day, in fact most video houses used it befor eht Mac and "ibm clones" got near strong enough to replace it.  THe games for it also blew away the ibm versions of thier time.  At least IMHO :-)

I don't think he was demanding the xport do a emu, just begging/pleading that he do so.

I have to say I'm very happy with uae-x it plays all my favourite games almost perfectly. The only thing lacking is piccasso which surely is a bit of a waste of time on the xbox, you might as well use linux.

2 player mouse support would be good for lemmings and serial port emulation (Through the NIC) for stunt car racer. I seem to recall mouse games seemed unplayable on the xpad too sensitive but I've got a usb keyboard & mouse now so it's not an issue.

Well yes, for playing games UAE-X is perfect (well almoust, a few games crash/guru - SotB for example - which dont do that on Winuae), but if u wanna do more serious stuff it isnt.
Like harddisk support via directorys (FatX-support), bsdsocket library emulation, diskette-read-speedup, JIT support, P96, etc...

There are alot of things that could make this from a nice "for gamers only" emu to a perfect one smile.gif

one thing I just thought is if there was gateway support we can use Amizilla and surf xbox-scene on the xbox, better choice than Linux
