try putting it in a folder. i.e.

e:emulatorspj64

containing the files, and the folders

reason i say that, is is you have already, or plan to in the future, add more emulators, your default.xbe files will overwrite each other.

if what i think is right i think that you have got things wrong

just to make things sure

make a folder called emulator in e:/
and with the folder that you extracted on your pc from the zip you downloaded
ftp it to the new emulator folder you just created

so the adress is e:/emulator/project64
and for the roms it will be e:/emulator/project64/roms

and update your evox if you havent got auto add

can you explain what you did abit more?

no that was just an example

but im not sure why your getting this problem

let me think about it...

so it gives you the loading screen and returns back to evox

no not even the loading screen!

I click on project64x and then the screen goes black as if something is about to load, then it drops backinto the menu.

am I missing some ini files or something?

i thought about that so i had a look at mine and compare it to yours

if your list is right
you have two
project64x.rdn files

but it could be just a typo its meant to be
project64x.rdn
project64x.rdb
project64x.rdx
thought

can you check?

also i just remembered that i had this kind of problem with the snes emu and had to delete some data in the tdata or the udata
i dont know if project64 uses the folders maybe someone could tell us?

also did you have it running on your xbox at all?

another cause could be a bad burn on the cdr/cdrw maybe try burning it file again?

another thing is your can try using a different app to launch the emu

i never used dvd2xbox but i have it and having a scan it allows you to launch project64 from there
locate the emu folder
just select the default.xbe and press y

or you could use boxplorer
press start and select e:/
locate your emu and press a

or you could use xtoolbox
its like dvd2xbox

Do you have an old bios? Maybe the version you downloaded needs to be patched to retail?
