I have already asked Lantus about implementing Samba shares and he told me that it was not one of his priorities as he has read about people having problems with the other emulators.  I would desperately like to see a network share feature of some sort with this emulator.  Whether it be using Relax or Samba.  It seems a shame that such a great emulator does not have this feature.  Lets just hope that Lantus one day decides to throw this feature into one of his future builds.

i really see that your snes roms are eating up LOADS of space on your HDD ?!

now with added disk support why not burn it off as a compilation disk or just keep roms stored on your HDD

I think that feature would be pointless personally, and something like system link option would be much more of an  appreciated function here, but again thats up to Lantus, great update m8, i was blown away with 141, u just stepped that up another level lol

Nods head with GLiTcH, yea i am really looking forward to FBA-x 4 too,  wink.gif

As the last guy said, the whole point of relax/samba isn't just to save space.
If you have more than one system, it is far easier to manage your files from a single point, with saving space only being a benefit.

Though if saved games could be saved to a relax share also that would make the sharing even more useful.

Playing Starfox with AdvMAME2x filter still produces the music slowdown on the first level. It's most noticeable at the very start when the ships are flying out of the base, and at the half-way point when you fly through the blue checkpoint ring.

Would it not be better to have an Auto Frameskip option as in the PC version? This seems like a perfect solution if the Xbox is going to struggle with some games.

The Turbo button (white) isnt frameskip ?
i was always in the impression that this is frameskip - thats wha its getting so fast;)

What i actually meant is the possibility to assign "right analogue stick right" to "turbo"
in the "Xbox controller 1 Buttion mappings screen" so its just as in Kawa-X smile.gif

the music in final fantasy II skips out a lot. especially during fights and the menus. it's brief but often.

Likklebaer - then dont use AdvanceMame2x, Simple2x eats less cpu and looks more authentic.

I *hate* software filters for this reason

That's not really a solution, Simple2x looks awful. If you're saying it's impossible to run certain games at full speed with certain filters then fair enough, you know a hell of a lot more about it than I do. But if the Xbox can handle brand new Neo Geo games, GBA games, and even some PSX games at full speed with software filters on then it seems likely that, even if some tweaking is required, it could handle games like Starfox.

'Just don't use it' maybe okay for ppl who *hate* filters but some of us like them. You chose to implement filters after all, so I think if there's any chance the problem can be resolved (maybe frameskipping will fix it) it deserves as much attention as any other.

awful? heh did you ever own a real Snes? did you know that a Snes resolution is 256x224 ?  Even without thinking about it, you know that sprites, pixels and textures are going to be blocky on a TV right? - Testing a real snes against Simple2x with point filtering makes it look as authentic as you can get.

and yes im saying Simple2x , AdvanceMame2x, SAI2x, SuperSAI2x are all software filters and take <x> amount of time and cpu to complete, which is an overhead to what i had previously in 1.04 and less. Simple2x being a straight doubling of pixels its more than twice as fast as AdvanceMame2x in my tests.

i chose to implement filters because there was a demand for them  im not a fan of filters because being software based, they add overheads and can slowdown emulation as you've seen .

I thank you for those filters Lantus  biggrin.gif .

BTW people, if I wanted to play my SNES games exactly like a SNES I would play them on my SNES.

The whole point of filters is that they make games look better than on the original system. The SNES itself relies on TVs' scanlines to hide any nasty blockiness. But for those of us who have scanline-free TVs and/or VGA monitors the sharp-but-rounded look of AdvMAME2x can't be bettered.

So if you do decide to add an Auto-Frameskip option, will this fix the speed issues? I presume so since XboyAdvance runs excellently with AdvMAME2x and Auto-Frameskip on.
