Why is SNES emulated so well? I can tell you it has nothing to do with CPU power. The SNES was simply very well documented, therefore the authors of Snes9x, ZSNES, and NESTER had alot of detailed information in regards to how it works.

I think another, probably more important reason why SNES is so well emulated is that SNES9X and ZSNES have been in development for 5-7 years...
And they both wisely decided to make their emulators open source.

I think those 2 emulators with MAME should be used as a model on how to perfect emulation of a platform.
Without making the emu open source, the author(s) will eventually grow bored of it, as was shown countless times in the past. Future authors then have to re-invent the wheel to get back to where that closed source emulator used to be.

God bless Gary, Demo, zsknight, Jeremy, and all for their foresight...

The Xbox is 32 bit, and I'm pretty sure the Dreamcast isn't really 128 bit.

the "bits" have been irrelevant since the 16bit days.
The bits can represent so many different things, and don't necessarily make the system faster compared to a lower "bit" rated system.

So please stop using the bits to compare systems...

Dreamcast 128-bit? No.  Serious the SH4 isn't a powerful processor.  It has 32-bit GPRs, with 128-bit registers in the FPU for 32-bit and 64-bit values.

Most of the things that people will discuss in this topic have already been said before, so I don't really feel like saying it again.

The xbox is not poweful enough to play commerical games of modern consoles.

Does anyone think it would be possible to use the Xbox to load the games on the GC?

Possible I guess. I expect that a small xbox app would be needed to invoke the PSO/BBA exploit  though. Certainly much better chance of happening than just about anything else in this thread though.
