Usb On Xbox?

I saw a usb adapter for use on your xbox and another for use on your pc.  I understand being able to use a controller on your pc, but what purpose would you have of using a usb device with your xbox?  

I could see using a mouse with games but i have not seen anything about that anywhere.  Could someone inform me of ANYTHING i could use with a usb --> xbox adapter?

you say you make it into a computer... what program do you use? what exactly is it then capable of?

i heard somewhere you can surf the internet through linux; anything special i need to do that?

Linux is an operating system just like Windoze for PC or OSX for MAC.  You would likely use the Mozilla web browser, though lynx is nice if you don't want to deal with inlined images :)
If you can immagine a program, linux has it.  If the Xbox has the hardware, then you can run it.

i have very little experience with susse linux.  would i be able to play my pc games on my xbox? is there some program i need to use to transer programs or whatever so linux can use/read it?

Basically by getting/making the usb adapter, you can install a linux operating system. What you can do with it, you can find some ideas for on that site.
