Wolfenstein 3D, Black Stone, Ken's Labyrinth (kinda goofy), and Nightmare 3D are the only one's I can come up with.

Some flight shooting 3D games that may work: Decsent and Radix: Beyond the void

I'm not sure about that... it had trouble working on my 486 w/ 12MB of RAM back in the day.

How about Magic Carpet?  I seem o remember running that on a 386.

Hmmm...  probably protected mode though.  I'll have to dig it out and give it a try.

I don't think Terminal Velocity would run too well.. perhaps worse than Descent would!

Thankx for the list, and for those who don't know:

Anything based upon the DOOM engine and beyond WILL not work or will play SLOWLY. This means that things such as Quake and Magic Carpet which use Poly's definatly are out of the question, infact I can't even get Alone In The Dark 2 to run at a decent speed, and can't get 1 (the best of all Alone's) to work at all. I doubt ROTT will run well if at all, and Duke and Shadow Warrior are definatly out of the question, we're gonna be restricted to the old classics that ran on the Wolfenstein or Wolfenstein like engines.

Once again, thankx to all for contributing to the list, if you can think of more that fit the limitations I have mentioned above, please feel free to list them, and wheather or not you have tested them at all on DOSXBOX.

I take that back, Corridor 7 runs ungodly sloooooowwwwwww. Has anyone actually tested any of this stuff on DOSXBOX, or what? I was sure someone had ran Wolfensteind at least at full speed, but then again that came with Return To Castle Wolfenstein, so why bother?

Is there anything generic enough to run full speed without shrinking the screen to Gameboy size!?

smile.gif Where you press FIRE, and you can watch frame by frame in slow motion as he raises his pistol and fires.

What kind of tweaking are you talking about? I'm VERY interested.

Anyhow, like I was saying, some improvements, but I still have the shrink the screen and it still does not run as fast as it would on a real 386. Corridore 7 that is.

Wouldn't it be easier if the CPU cycles were already set at there highest from the get go isntead of having to increase it every time? I figure most of the games peple intend to play are prolly newer rather than older and require at least a 386.
