I wouldn't expect it to play every game perfectly.  I only say this becuase some of you seem like thats what you're expecting.

Think people are more expecting it to have close to the same compatibility as the PC version its based off of.

After what I remember, the emus will have almost
perfect compability when they get updated.
oDD said something like that a while ago.   biggrin.gif

While the games may be compatible with the emulators, the visual/audio aspect is still left to the graphic/audio plugins.

It will only be as good as the plugins allow. They are the bottleneck. The best open source video plugin would be rice's, which is getting quite nice, very near comparison to jabo's.

So in conclusion, the games may be compatible (as in...they will start) but the playability of them will be in question. It wont be 'near perfect'. N64 emulation wont be 'near perfect' for quite some time (for all games...alot of games are practically perfect.)

N64 emulation isn't perfect on PC, when I said "almost perfect", I meant
that they will be almost as good as the PC versions.
But anyways, it will be a fantastic update.

I've spent the best part of four hours playing around with PJ64 & 1964 today trying out some games I never got the opportunity to play (trying them all out with Rice's plugin's as if they won't work with that on the pc then forget it working on the xbox version) and I've found a hell of a lot of games do work ok with the plugin but you have to play around with the settings. I hope that we'll have (some) ability to change the plugin settings so we can tune the games ourselves.

Having said that if it plays pilotwings better than .70 I'll be happy (And the very fact I'm playing pilotwings at all on my xbox makes me pretty happy).

We all wait with baited breath, maybe tommorow, maybe next week, maybe next year one things for sure this is going to be to keep a quiet eye on.

There's no point in asking, it'll be out when it's out.

One question - pj64 .70 is kinda 'laggy' on mu Xbox. Is it on yours?

That depends on which game you're trying to play.
