Man, if you got DOOM working (to a degree) then I really wish I could get Dark Forces to run, but I guess it is a more complicated game so we'll prolly have to wait on that one.

I dunno where the compatibility list went but here are my results:

Stunts - The SBlaster music works, Play with speed and frameskip
Knights of Xenthar - Starts well, but hangs at the first sound effect in the first cutscene
Joe Montana - Play with the frameskip and emulation speed, use AdLib to have music
Pintball Fantasies - 99% perfect, with some GFX glitches and 1/2 sec lag with sounds.

Oh well, I have a XBOX like game pad for my PC to play Dark Forces with anyhow, for some reason I've been trying to get it to work on the XBOX (for shits and giggles I guess), but both DOSXBOX and the PSX emu seem incapable, no biggy.

The GORILLA.BAS and NIBBLES.BAS games work!

I am insterested in knowing if there is a way to modifiy autoexec/config.sys/dosbox.conf as well.     Anyone know more details?

The Z: drive where autoexec.bat resides is a ram drive but is read only.

Can the -conf parameter be used when launching DOSXBOX from evox?

Then link to the source of this unnamed emulator of yours.

I think he means Bochs which is far far too slow. Don't even know how much ram the xbox version gives you.

Never tried the xbox port but bochs isn't fast enough to play any 90's games with decent sound and speed. The way CPU's are going it could be one to watch out for.

Oh! So that's what he means. And yeah, Bochs has some certain issues with it.

seem to be having a problem, when i load dosxbox i just get a blank screen. I am not completely sure what is going on, the only wierd thing about my box is that i have a Standard PC dvdrom drive installed, I am runing avalaunch and have the Xectuter2 4977 bios installed. Any idea's would be kewl. Thanks.

I'm not very familiar with Avalaunch, but make sure you have any IGR (in-game reset) options turned off.

I tried disabling IGR, no luck, tried launching from evox and still no luck. It just comes up to a black screen and seems to hand the xbox.

Get real Dark Forces is a pentium based game whereas Doom was around in the 386/486 era
Try running Dark Forces on a 386 it won't happen

Dark Forces requires a 386 DX 33 minimum to run, but the box recommends a 486 DX 33. Don`t know if this emulates a 386 SX or DX though.

Any idea why my pad works inverted in dosxbox? When I push up, all the games think I'm moving down and vice versa. Left / right works ok.

Same here,

Analogue stick is "vertically inverted",

otherwise, great emulator!!

Ed

P.S. Car & Driver works great!
