Bugs In The Killer Instinct Emu

Perhaps this has already been covered, but I would like to tel the nasty bugs I have seen so far. The game insert coins all the times, if you try to revive your fighter in the fatality mode the game freezes, the service mode is not accesible and finally they game also freeze when showing the start up movie.



edit: I forgot to mention that this concerns Killer Instinct 1.

umm sorry guy ive never had any of these issues... the only issues Ive seen are the HP and HK are swapped... it locks up after the credits and it loses sound then locks if you let the intro play for too long..... but as for the other stuff you are saying... there must be something wrong with your roms..

Mine continually adds in Credits too, and mine also freezes when showing the start up movie after about 30 seconds or so.

DJ is correct. You need a genuine version 1.5 boot rom, many of the ones floating around are just renamed 1.4s from the MAME set. I had these problems 'til I got ahold of one. And now everything's works beautifully happy.gif

I would also like to add, the fierce punch and kick buttons are assigned incorrectly (easily fixxed by reassigning the keys tho), you have to assign firece punch to the fierce kick button and vice versa.

The game locks up every time you attempt a DJ Combo Fatility. (where you knock them into the screen)  (and the sabrewolf one I assume too)


Oh and I didn't see any way to return to the dashboard if you want to.


I'll post more as I find them, but i'm very impressed gj and thanks for this release

This are exactly the same bugs that happen if you try to do those finishers on rcp's u64emu with hle.

On the pc you can do all finishers,because you can switch between hle and no hle.
The switching allows you to do all finishers(some finishers works only with hle the others only without hle)

Maybe it's a good idea if it's possible to add a option in the emu that allows to play with and without hle.
But for me the finishers are not so important.

Speed increase of KI2 is more important,and if it's not possible
a frameskip option would be great,because KI2 runs only with 20fps in mame for me,but it looks and feels much faster than the 40 on the x-box if i have frameskip on.

BTW:You can go back to the dashboard by  bringing up the in game menu then exit to menu and hold the left and right shoulder buttons and press black.

Finally i must say the u64x beta is a great emu and i can't wait until Lantus release the next version of the emu.

Just letting the guy know he wasn't alone in those matters. I haven't played the wondows version (because using a keyboard is no where near as good as it is on my xbox controller), and I apologize for not looking into that. That was lazy of me.
Personally, the "bugs" I posted do not affect or bother me, because I want to play; not watch intro movies. Also, now I don't have to bother adding in credits! It makes life easier for me. smile.gif (Although I can see that would bug hardcore KI gamers).
BTW, I'm really impresed with the frame rates in U64-X! Great work lantus.

and for the speed probs in KI2, there are already solutions for 1P and 2P games, that make it much faster postet earlier. search ;-)

For Ki 2 speed, nothing to do. You can just do Down + B with the Pad (if you haven't changed your config) at the Chara select screen, you will play in Ultra speed in Ki 2. But it's not enough.

Yes the ultra speed is not enough.
What i do to play it right is activate the superspeed code.
Works only in 2 player mode(on the right joystick hold up
and press 3 then 5 and then 1) at the character selection screen.

With this code i could do all combos which i can do on the pc version,but not with the x-box controller laugh.gif (must buy an arcade stick for the x-box)

But a speed increase would be great if it's possible,because you can use the superspeed code only in 2 player mode.
I know most of the ppl prefer KI1,but for me both games are great. tongue.gif

IMO KI 1 and KI2 are the best fightinggames ever made,and
i visit a lot of forums and try to find news  about  the KI games.

My only gripe with Killer Instinct 1 is the volume is way too low. I have to turn my tv way up. Then when I reboot or go back to the dashboard (Media X Menu) The soundtrack starts blasting my head off.
