HQ3X is quite fast in ZSNES...

Yes, and thats ZSNES.

You might want to remember ZSNES is written (completely?) in ASM.

xSnes9x is not.

You should not compare one emulator to another, and assume that one is capable as the other ; )

Well, tell me if my logics are incorrect here.

Something written in ASM is logically faster than something written in C/c++/whatever, unless the ASM one is horribly unoptimized (which in the case of ZNES, i highly doubt its unoptimized).

A unoptimized filter, for either emulator, is going to take the same hit, wont it?

Then wouldnt a emulator written in ASM preform better, due to the fact that its more efficient?

I would believe ZSNES would take slightly less cpu compared to Snes9x, simply because a matter of coding differences.

eh? =p

I get what your saying Lantus, but if I'm right all Iriez meant was that since the ZSNES is faster anyway, there is more capacity left over for hte performance hit that the filter would give.

But are you saying that the time it takes the filter to refresh the screen is the problem anyay so it wouldn't really matter how efficient hte rest of the emulator is, the filter would still be a bottleneck on current xbox systems? (as it's written now)
