A better thing to ask would be - has anyone submitted a suitable skin yet?

As for releasing it only with KI1 support - I don't think Lantus is about to do that. He'll release it when he thinks it's ready.

i want to sort out the KI2 issue first , i really dont want to release this emu half baked...so just give me some time to see if i can sort it out - which im pretty confident i can

RCP hasn't been around and I don't see him adding it to U64EMU. Although the sound engine does need some work. maybe..:-)
When sourc code is released, it gives others to use the code and improve upon it..Right?
It would be nice to play with the music in these games. And I do have the KI Cuts CD, but not the other CD that was out there..

You know I was thinking about KI and MK on the XBOX. If KI could run at 60fps on the Xbox and KI2 runs between 60-40, why is it that the mortal kombats do not run as well on MameOX. I know it’s not the coder’s fault they just port over whatever MAME32 runs, which is optimized for a high end PC. If they redid the MK drivers on MAMe could they get it perfectly?

Would it be possible that MK1-3 to be emulated perfectly since KI1 and 2 are technically more advanced?

I'm no programmer, so this is just my guess.

What the MAME team are aiming for is correct emulation rather than speed.  You wont see either KI playable on MAME. But MK is definitly playable (from what I have heard), although not perfect. What U64 has done is probably some optimization of the drivers for KI.  If anyone would make an emulator for JUST MK and optimize it very much, you would probably see it playable at full speed at an xbox.

Note. I am not an expert at emulation. I am not a programmer etc etc... (disclaimer =))... don't take my word for this.

EDIT: Typos... as usual. Have to learn how to spell =)

hrmm, i had used the reflex arcade stick hack that i had seen on shoryuken.com to build my own arcade stick for my XBox. It works great. There was no way i was playin CVS2 online with that crap ass controller-s. You should look into building your own if you are serious about a stick. I did no soldering, i used quick disconnects from radio shack. The entire controller cost about 60 bucks. That was with parts from happ controls. man it feels soo good!! hehe

re artwork - you will just have to wait and see

re mame emulation being slow: my understanding is that the KI driver is using an interpreted core rather that using a dynarec.
