Hopefully when the Playstation is more sucessfully emulated, the System 12 Hardware will be supported.

Although psx and system 12 are very close in system specs it would take some heavy recoding to get a psx emu to run system 12 games. your best bet is if the zinc emu could get ported if the source came out.

Well, I'm not talking about a Playstation emu playing System 12 games exactly.  I'm saying that since the hardware is similar, once PSX emulation is more ironed out, they'll be able to use that knowledge towards incorporating system 12 emulation into an arcade emulator, like nebula, zinc, or mame.

desertboy - and what exactly was the point of boasting of your import, in relation to this post?

You can already play soul calibur on the xbox albeit soul calibur 2 (which is damn fine)
No emu needed and it's legal if you buy it. Where are you going to buy soul calibur arcade roms?

The best bet is buy the import or wait (I bought the import but I'm a soul calibur fanatic the reason I bought a DC.)

PS I just noticed the post saying Mr Jones is Jealous of Desertboy well if you don't own Soul Calibur 2 you should all be jealous. I intend buying the european version on release (Well probably 2nd hand) so I can finally play the weapons master mode, damn japenese at least the menus are in english.

Desertboy wipes a tear from the corner of his eye as he remember Rock & stone club.

this is a great game is there any xbox emus that runs this game?
arcade or something?

Desertboy strokes his Japenese soul calibur 2 import that cost him £65 back in april, then strokes his DC and the original soul calibur. Then decides a 4 player power stone 2 is needed.

What does that mean? PowerStone 2 IS 4 player.

Anyway, I live in the UK, so trust me, I know, the UK name for it is Soul Blade, that is the only thing the PSX version was ever called here, I owned it (twice).

i know theres a playstation one version atleast but i cant remember the name

Soul Blade is the game you mean.

I was almost sure the name of the first game of the Namco saga was Soul Edge. But maybe that was just the jap name.

Peace

If I remember right, the game was known by both names depending on the region.

It think 'Edge was the UK name.

UK==Soul Blade
US==Soul Blade
JP== Soul Edge

Arcade== Soul Edge

4 player powerstone means find 3 friends, a DC, power stone 2 & 4 controllers and then madness. My DC is 10X better than my xbox for decent games.

i went thry weapon master mode in the japanese version, it wasn't hard to do...

Maybe but I wanted to save myself a treat for when the english version is out.

I notice that there is indeed a soul calibur rom floating around now, no emu but there is a rom. (There was a bad rip but now a verified one is doing the circuits) so we are a step closer to emulating the arcade machine but I wouldn't bother. The DC version and xbox versions are so close to perfect I'd rather play them and know I contributed something to a great games company and have a more rounded product for the home market.

Soul blade has issues with pcsxbox I couldn't get it to go fast enough even with the newest version of the emulated.

there is no soul calibur rom yet, although zinc should be able to run it once it's released

From http://unemulated.emuunlim.com/namco/

Soul Calibur SOC1 Ver.A BAD Working in Zinc, but all GFX are bad because there's 2 ROMs that have not been dumped. Need to buy another adapter!

soul edge was the name for the arcade and every home release 'cept the US. i don't see why they had to change it to soul blade for us, but they did.

also, it hasn't been said, but soul edge/blade is not the PS version of soul calibur. soul edge is the first game, soul calibur is the second game, and soul calibur 2 is obviously the third game.
