There is one thing that might be a bug or you might have intended it that way but in the main menu i went to configuration and set the default filter for SuperSai2x and everytime i load a game it starts with no filter, i know there is an option right before you FIRST start the rom to change the filter but i thought it would start with SuperSai2x because thats what i set it as in the main menu, the other updated emus just automatically started with the main menu default filter, it's not a big problem and i'm not complaining i just thought i'd bring it to attention, but this is one hell of an emu i loved the original sonic biggrin.gif a very big thank you for all these emus  beerchug.gif

sad.gif ), and how to get out of a game(go back to main menu of the emu), I was able to do it but can't figure out exactly how to do it each time(again maybe the INI was wrong and caused probs)...

Also I may have found a bug,  when playing some games the character would "freeze" after I hit UP(or so it seemed it was UP) possibly the INI again?  I wasn't able to move my character but the other characters("bad guys") were moving...

also didn't see any skins(all I saw was text)...

I was able to get an older version going but am wanting to get this going as it seems to do better when I do get things playing...

thanks in advance!

The INI file that is loaded is called SMSPLUS.INI

If you change the SMSPLUS.INI file, you need to upload it over the existing one, and then do a "force reload" from the configuration menu.

If you are not seeing a skin, then you either installed it incorrectly or someone decided to remove the skin from the package you downloaded.

Main menu -> configuration -> configure controllers

I'm trying to run from a CD, is SMSPlusX still trying to read from D:\ ?

It must be because I just hardcoded the paths in and its still not working properly...

skin=DEFAULT_SMSPLUSX
skin_dir=R:\EMUSKINS
rom_dir=R:\SMSROMS

the skins are there, just not in D:\

not a big deal but kinda sucks...

thanks for the info!

Very very nice! Another awesome update to a great oldie biggrin.gif

Yes, NeoGenesis has the same problem. If I turn on a filter in say Dynamite Headdy, all of the games will start with this filter on and not just Dynamite Headdy. This is a bit annoying because the 32X and SegaCD games only seem to run well with no filtering, so it would be nice if the graphics filter could only be applied to the MegaDrive games instead of every game. PCSX (the latest version) didn't have this problem. I'm guessing Xport didn't implement it in SMSPlus and NeoGenesis.

EDIT: I've yet to try NeoGenesis v2 so if this is fixed then sorry for bringing it up.

If the "force reload" question was for me, I just tried it and NO it don't help, BECAUSE I am trying to run EVERYTHING from a CD, NOT from the D:\  dir where the reload looks...

I am trying to run the emulator, the skins, and the roms ALL from a CD...   I can do it(by searching for the roms manually), BUT the emu only wants to read settings from D:\  and NOT from the INI file on the CD...

I don't have my system set up yet to be able to put stuff on the HD...

thanks

The D:\ drive is the drive from which the XBE is loaded.  It doesn't matter where it is.  It could be on your hard drive.  It could be your DVDROM drive.  The D:\ drive is *always* where the XBE is loaded.  If you put the XBE on your hard drive in, say, E:\GAMES\EMULATORS\SMS\DEFAULT.XBE, then your D:\ drive would be equal to the E:\GAMES\EMULATORS\SMS directory.

Therefore, if you are running from a CD, then you would not need to change the INI file at all.  Just make an SMSROMS directory and put your games in there because the default ROM dir is D:\SMSROMS - and your D:\ - in your case - would be mapped to your DVDROM drive because that's where you are running the XBE.
