hm i dont want to be an ass , but i get no decent frame rates on any games for some reason (same with ch3,gbax uvbax).
Tried all sorts of games, zelda 4sw, aria of sorrow, goldensun2 , metroid fusion...
i noticed i get full frame rates in metroid fusion in the beginning, but as soon as i enter a dark room with light circle around samus the frame rate drops...also for aria of sorrow, as soon as i get 2 scrolling backgrounds the frame rate drops.
Is there actually a way to get a STEADY frame rate (i tried frame skip 0 , 1 , 2, 0 and 1 gives me weird music).
I m just wondering if i m doing something wrong or if thats normal? I also tried not using any filters at all.
Could this be a 50hz pal problem (ppl had a similar problem with px 64 thats why i ask)?

That's normal..

My 700MHz Athlon doesn't run any Game Boy Advance games at 60fps with Visual Boy Advance - so I doubt that the Xbox will (unless the next version of Visual Boy Advance will be optimized)

Anyway... the framerate is perfectly acceptable unless you're really pedantic. And it's still better than CH3 or Hikaru's emu speed-wise - which is really impressive considering CH3 was written from the ground up for the Xbox' specs yet this port of Visual Boy Advance is much faster.

No, I have this problem too unless I change it for each game but I haven't got a response yet.

2. Frodo possible improvements.
How about incorporating the great new features of your recent emus into Frodo?
I would love XNS sharing, and skinning a c64 emu would be superb!

Er, although sometimes it seems as if all emulators were released by Xport as he is so prolific, actually FrodoX was by dragonz1.

simonko - it's an option on the configuration menu.

re: controller mapping.  Mappings are saved for each game.  Change controller mappings for a game while playing the game or from the "configure game" main menu option.

When you run a game, the current controller settings are overwritten with whatever was last saved for that game.  Therefore, if you last played a game where the fast forward was set to the RTrigger button and did not change it while playing the game, then the saved settings for that game will stay the same.

If you cannot understand this, this go to the e:\saves\xboyadvance directory and delete all the *.KEY files.  Then load up XBoyAdvance, go to the

Main Menu -> Configuration -> Configure Controllers

and configure your controller how you wish it to be.  Now when you start playing games, all of them will use that default mapping until you change it to something else while in-game.

This is a fantastic emulator Xport, by far the best GBA emu out for xbox.
I know it's stupid to ask for perfection but i'd thought i'd point out a couple of little faults (might be part of VBA PC, I dunno).

* In the two 3d games I tried (monkey ball jr, sega rally) the screen flickers a bit making it hard to play.

* i've noticed a lot of screen tearing, VERY noticeable in Jet grind radio. I don't know much about this but it looks similar to the VSYNC probs in the older versions of MAMEoX.

cheers mare

If you had a PC of the same specs as the XBox and ran VBA on it, you would see the same thing.

Thanks. I will try that. Using my res. the aspect ratio is a little off, but you get the max screen area without losing pixels in the netherworld!
