why don't you rename the roms?
I hate having those long names in my menu, looks messy.

When you have full romsets for multiple platforms, renaming the files quickly becomes unfeasable...

NES = over 2000 roms alone. (after removing all the junk)

Not true. There are plenty of file renaming programs out there, including some specifically for the xbox to shorten the filenames using "logic".
