the saves are actually stored elsewhere, so you can safely replace the folder.

I sorta doubt that xenogears is broken now, and wasnt before. Make sure you have a PSX bios (SCPH1001.BIN) placed in the bios directory, and run the game in bios mode.

it doesn't come with bios anymore?
omg..
well, I'll give it a bios and if that doesn't work I'll go back to v3, since v3 has a bios

I already had a bios..
Well, I guess v7 just won't work for me.
which is too bad since I wanted to use blitters or what they are called.
Are you sure it's not because I upgraded from v3 to v7 directly?
Don't I needv4 v5 v6 too?

of course not.

If you want to, you should delete the entire PCSXbox folder (after backing up of course, just in case), then recopy v7 from scratch (also, go to E:SAVESPCSXBOX and delete the .ini's in there.)

that will fix anything that you might have broken from updating

P.S. PCSXbox comes with an HLE bios (this bios is homebrew and faster than a real bios, but not as compatible) the real PSX bios is somewhat optional (also copyrighted, thus, illegal) if you have the SPCH1001.bin from v3, you can just copy that to your v7 folder.

Bottom line: v7 is better than v3. I see no reason not to use it.

I feel like comitting suicide..
Where are the saves stored?
My saves are all gone!
Metal gear solid AND xenogears.
I saw this now when I changed to version three.
can it have anything to do with the fact that I went back to v3 just by exchanging .xbe's?
This is not funny at all.
replaying xenogears..
I had put 40 hrs of playtime into that game.

Ok, now I changed to v3 (deleting the folder and putting v1 in it then putting v3 xbe in it)
and the files are not there.
you know there is an option which says "delete save files for" does it delete the memory card save or save state?
Also, I know there are saves and stuff in e:saves or whatever it's called, why aren't the saves there when I choose load game?

arzang - v3 did not have a bios with it either.  The only version that came pre-packaged with a BIOS was v1.  It's easy enough to find one, though.

Your saves were automatically moved to e:\saves\pcsxbox when you first ran v7.  You can move them back to the UDATA folder mentioned in the NFO if you wish.

you need to go to E:SAVESPCSXBOX to grab your saves (might as well back them up on your PC while you're at it, sounds like you're pretty sensitive about them)

and then copy them to the UDATA folder mentioned in the v3 nfo, like Xport said.

If you dont have an nfo, you need to go get one, most of the info you need is in there. Go to the place you originally got the emu.

e:savespcsxbox has some files ni it too, but no pcsx.ini
if I copy it from saves/pcsxbox to the udata folder, and something is wrong, will my saves be lost forever?

Should I copy ALL the files from e:saves pcsxbox to the udata folder?

E:Udataffff051fOFC41366546E
there are a couple of saves and also pcsx.ini and some other things

wow I must really be jinxed or something because now when I start the game, I can't press any button.
and if I press the left thumb to go into the menu, and then choose emulator specific options (or any kind of option) the shit freezes.
seriously, can you fuck up as hard as I am doing now?
What the hell am I doing wrong?
I installed it just as I did before.
seriously, can it be that it just won't work ever again?

If i were you, I'd delete the emulator off the Hard Drive (making sure you have a backup, and a backup of the saves as well)

Then I'd find something else to do, and worry about this tomorrow. It sounds like you're too stressed out to get this working properly.

Then start over, (tomorrow) from scratch.

the thing is, I will never fix this on my own.
It seems there is some serious issues with my xbox.
I already tried deleting the whole emulator once (except the psxcd's folder) but it still didn't work.
and tomorrow I will just be like "meh, who cares about xenogears anyway" and never every play this game again..

Find the files in your save games directory called *.stg and *.key and delete them for the game in question.

Once you have run v3 or v7 again, it should automatically create the 0FC41366546E directory again.  Just put your *.mcd files in that directory, run v3 and it should be fine.

Well, if you told it to "delete save files for xenogears" then yes - it probably did delete your save files for xenogears. (?)
