ninja - Re: SRAM. It's the same things as with windows emulators - you just never encounter it because people close the applications instead of turning off their computer. If you were to use an emulator for a console that uses SRAM (e.g. FCEUltra, Snes9x, Gens, etc) and you save your game in the emu and then turn off your computer before closing the emulator application, your changes would not be saved either. Emulators store SRAM in memory. When an emulator stops emulating a game, it writes the SRAM in memory to the hard drive. Same thing with the XBox. It's possible to autosave the SRAM contents to the hard drive every five minutes or something, but there is a problem with that. Firstly, it adds overhead. Secondly, it adds a false sense of security to people who think their games will still be saved when they turn off the XBox. Anyway, usually the very last thing a person does before stopping is to save a game. There's no guarantee that the auto-save feature will kick in during the 5-10 seconds after a user has saved their game and before they turn off the XBox.
No, there's no reason why the game cannot be transferred to/from the players for netplay sessions.
Currently netplay cannot be started from the commandline.
No, I have absolutely no plans of porting a SNES emu - now or ever. Lantus' port is fabulous and does absolutely everything that 99% of the emu community wants it to do.
