No, I'm pretty sure they're trying to read files from their PCs via SMB/NetBIOS sharing.

To the people having problems - you need to verify that your share works before trying it with PCSXBox. I cannot tell right now if it's a problem with PCSXBox or if the shares are not set up correctly. If your SMB share works in XBMP, the same share should work in PCSXBox.

is that where you got the end of your lines (the part in bold)

Im going to post my complete setup so that Xport will get an idea of what (some) of us are working with:

Linskys Router
Windows Firewall Enabled
Zone Alarm or other Firewall being used
Ps games not on C drive (again for some, not all people) rather another drive
havent rebooted comp since making this new account

I got the linksys 4 port router, and no firewalls are up. It's really strange, i cannot get it even close to functioning with XBMP either. I even followed a SMB tutorial written for XBMP. I have rebooted since installation of new user accounts.

BTW, I GOT GAME, take the . away from the Computer name, like instead of it being GAME. make it GAME

Aswell the part you have that says MSHOME, that is incorrect, unless the shared folder of yours is named MSHOME. That part should be the name of the shared folder you want to access.

yea man on a linksys 4 port

laptop is wireless and sharing works fine

I use relax on my xbox for xbmp...and sharing the movie files with it

but with psx emu I get nothing man...I don't get it

I have the same setup as those of you having problems. I'll test this out on my systems later tonight. Hopefully we can have a simple setup tutorial by tomorrow.

To the folks whose XBMP SMB is working and PCSXBox is not - do you have a "nameserver" set up in your XBMP config.xml ? If so, does XBMP SMB stop working for you if you remove it?
