Pcsxbox V4 - Samba/netbios Server
« on: February 10, 2007, 09:38:00 AM »

...i cant find the ini file....

after trying for hours, smb still doesnt work.
relax was fixed in a minute, but i dont want to start the relax program each time i wanna game.
the weird thing is in the network options, i set up the xbox IP,gateway, submask but i dont understand the other  samba options.

relax only has one option and i did that directly correct.
XBMC has this SMB:worgroup and that does work,it finds evry shared folder, but then when i try smb it doesnt work, isnt it possible for you to do the same with this emulator....it would be easier for us all!!!

XPort's SMB implementation has had some issues . . . since before XBMP became XBMC.

FYI, one should always check the date of the last post in a thread they found searching, otherwise they'll be publicly scorned for "Thread Voodoo."

Protosstic, to set up a smb server, set up a second account in windows, if your account already has a password, skip this step
Set your psx isos folder to shared and name it something like PCSXBOX in the options
then in the pcsxbox ini where it says smb or samba servers or something type in SMB://username:password@yourcomputername/thenameyougavetoyourfolder

so if your computer name would be Protosstic and you used the user/pass xbox/xbox and the shared folder is called PCSXBOX on the network then it would be
SMB://xbox:xbox@Protosstic/PCSXBOX

and you're done

I tested this out on a win2k machine.

When you edited the PCSX.INI file, did you upload it to the correct place?  (i.e. overwrote the existing one on your xbox?)

Also, when you re-ran pcsxbox, did you go to configuration and do the "force reload of d:*.ini files"?

Just been trying, having no luck at all.

Before, the Xbox would studder for a second when i clicked SMB, and then it would show nothing, now when I click SMB, it goes there real fast, but there is nothing there. It is not connecting for some reason..
I also tried the Force Reload d: ini the first time i just tried again, and still nothing.

when you made a smb server, did you get the right computer name, check it in the properties of my computer and i think that if the folder is shared it should show up there too
and don't put the directory path, just the name you assigned to it when you shared it

I am having no luck.. My Computer name is Marc, xbox/xbox is the login info the user account.
PSX is a folder which is shared, and is available to the network.

smbshare=SMB://xbox:xbox@Marc/PSX

That is the line i got set up.

Really not having much luck sad.gif

is that the folder's name or the name you assigned to the folder on the network?

it's the folder's name, and the name it's assigned to on the network. I am trying with XBMP, having same problem with everything.
