host is your computer name.  It's what you should have been putting after the @ sign.

(The format suggested in the INI file is smb://user:pass@host/share )

phobs - so SMB works for you in PCSXBox with

smb://user:pass@host:ip/share

?

If so, then I suggest everyone else who is having problems to try that format also.

Cacheing effectively would mean copying the entire image to the X drive - in which case you might as well just upload the file to the XBox yourself.  You can upload to the X drive and then start PCSXbox and you will still see it on the X drive - it won't be deleted.

Watch out if you run other programs though, such as commercial Xbox games, as they will wipe the X, Y, Z partitions.

I have the same problem with v4.
Through XBMP i can find the dir but not with pcx.

As far as i know there is a problem with the emu and smb.

Hope there will be a solution soon.

Now, one question Xport, I am sharing my PC Cd rom drive, it can read PSx cd's, how do I get them to play and read through the network onto my xbox.

I believe he kinda answered that in a response to a similar question from Roam. If there was PC software that could present a real CD as a CD image on the fly, then potentially you could share that 'virtual' image over SMB. I don't know if such software exists, though.

my xbox adress is 213.198.00.00
my pc is 213.198.00.01
i will test some more..

I'd change the IP of the Xbox if I were you. any IP address that ends *.*.*.0 is the IP address of the network/subnet. Change it to 213.198.0.2 and see if that helps

Finally ive got it to work!
How I did
1. wrote this in the pscx.ini file:
smbshare=SMB://xbox:xbox@hemma/zeem/playstation
2. uploaded the new .ini file
3. Started the emu
went to the menu option "configuration" and then "force reload D: *.ini settings"
4. After a few times the emu finally show the *.bin files.

this is probably the same thing that the .nfo file says you should do  tongue.gif

and finally
Nice work Xport

SMB works with the same format as XBMP you just gotta go the the SMB: drive twice.
