Is some of the high scores saved on history.dat?

no, history.dat had some general information about each game, cheats, interesting info, ect.

hiscores.dat is something else entirely.

awesome, cant wait to see it up.  They were saying that they would have better light gun support this time, and the description does not say anything about it.  Next release or will we just have to see?

next release for new lightgun stuff.  Sorry, that's going to be more of the same in this release.  The UI changes and fixing the sound bug consumed this last week.

I'm looking forward to screenshot support too, but that's not in yet either.  The sound fix alone should be reason enough to pick this one up - that, and the xml stuff makes it nice and easy for you to mark your nonworking roms (even easier when we provide it in future releases).

This is a top emulator! Keep up the good work.

My question is, i've spent all last week getting v.70 roms and all the ones i've tried work great with v0.70 b3. So if i upgrade to this release do i have to change all my roms?

Excellent release. The interface is really coming a long way - and I don't know whether this is due to core changes in the MAME 0.71 core or thanks to the new auto frameskip settings, but Taito games such as Bubble Memories and Puzzle Bobble 4 run almost perfectly now. Give my regards to ebair and opcode for their great work.

How did you get Bubble Memories to work? Mine loads and then it hangs and says, "Push Test Switch Backup Data Failed". Anyone know how to get past this? Also alot of the Midway roms have very low sound and you have to max out the volume just to hear them. Example, MK3, Rampage World Tour.

Select Game Controls (for this game) from the ingame menu, and assign a button to the Service Mode Button. Press the Service Mode Button once, this will take you into Service Mode. Select "Exit" and wait for the game to load. Now you can play it.

I've always just used Mame-X, but today I decided to give Mameox a try and man, am I ever impressed. Great GUI, and so far it's got great compatability. Thanks a lot to the creators.

I just have two quick questions if anyone wouldn't mind ...

I've changed the ini file on E to direct all of the directories to the subfolders under Mameox on my F drive (where I put everything), but for whatever reason a Hiscores.dat doesn't show up ... exactly how does the hiscore feature work in this release of Mameox? Are hiscores saved automatically? I've searched and haven't found an answer to this.

Other question is wondering if there's a setting that will minimize screen tearing when games scroll (ie. Rastan when walking left to right, a slow-moving flashing bar moves up the screen). I've tried turning VSync on and off, as well as all of the other filters, but this glitch is still there. I've noticed it in a number of games, such as Rolling Thunder. Is there a setting that will minimize this? If not it's not such a big deal. Maybe it's that I'm using .61 roms ... I dunno.

Thanks again to the creators. Great job. Now I'm updating all of my roms from .61 to .71 ... that's a lot of work!

I noticed in the previous release that in MK3 or Ultimate, when doing combos, it would lag a bit.  Is it still present in this version?  BTW great work.  Its awesome.
