off topic, but yes. The original devs of pcsx have quit but some new guys have started working on a 1.6 version and i belive its being beta tested right now. If there are any good changes then im sure pcsxbox will get updated too.

Yeah buy a psx, seriously though selecting old frameskip on should sort out sound but may have a severe detrimental effect on gameplay.

Some Questions Regarding Final Fantasy 7

Does anyone have this game working with the cool grafic effects when going into a battle?

Does anyone not see the arrows that point to what anemy you are gonna attack in a battle?

If so can you please post....

Bios you are using
What CPU configurations are on and off
What Grafic Configurations are on and off
what grafic filters you are using, (sai, Eagle, MAME.. ECT...)
Are you using Point, Biliner, triliner, or anatropic Filtering
What mode you have the emu running in 480i, 480p, 720p or 1080i

I say we start a new compatability list for this emu.. where all these questions are answered.. Lets do it right. This list is a huge help but lets make it perfect.

If interested please PM me .. If i get enough positive responces i will host the site but will take on people to help in creating and keeping up with the updating.. as well as myself.

Also if anyone has the answers to the questions i just asked for these games too.. much appreciated...

Castlevania
Metal Gear Solid
resident evil (1, 2 and 3)
gran turismo
gran turismo 2

Thanks all,

Demon

{{DEMON}} - and graphics enhancements of any sort or filters always end up slowing down the emulator alot so I dont recoment using them. I dont think pscxbox runs in hd. I remember a while ago someone said to un map the throttle to fix the pointer issue. I was running ff7 on pscxbox but it had the pointer issue I never tried fixung it since I have a real psx and ps2 and I can play it perfect on them. There have already been a few failed attempts at a new list so I doubt that is going to happen but if it does I can help. I know Resident evil 1 directors cut works perfect you just have to unmap the throttle. which castlevania? Chronicles or SOTN?

We all know that a REAL PSX is the way to go.  I have 4 of them.. and I have 2 PS2's.  I can easly dig one out and play ff7 on it.  But whats the fun.  The Idea behind a emulator is to play games from another system all in one place.  Lately the Xbox seems like the Place to do that.  I really would love to play through ff7 again on my xbox just to say hey... I beat ff7 on an emulator and on my xbox.

PSCX does run in HD.  I switched from the 480i option to both 480p and 1080i.  ff7 does not like 1080i on my tv and locks.  but it pays fine in 480p and the emu and the game look quite fine.  Also with the 4 filtering options (POINT, BI, TRI and ANATROPIC) all 4 work with ff7 and i see no lag issues with the game.  Now the other options.. The ingame filters (sai, super sai, eagle, ECT....) them and the CPU options (odd/even hack, ect...) i haven't messed with .... But i do know that the vandel hearts hack.. slows the game down and the other game hack does to.  so both are off.

No matter what I do or what options I use.. there are 2 problems with ff7.  It dont show the arrows to select what target you are aiming at in battle, and that cool grafix effect of the screen bluring as you get sucked into a battle doesn't work either.  So my whole goal is to see if someone out there has FF7 working on their XBOX with the 2 problems Working on their ff7 and if so can they please write a post about what all their configuration settings are.  I am willing to also start a web site if enough people are interested in eactly what the best settings are for a game.. sort of a huge compatability list but with every setting predeffined for users so they don't have to mess with it for hours to tweek it.

By maping and unmaping the throttle... you mean to unmap the controller button that when you push it it makes the game go super fast?
IF so i did that already for all games that use the throttle button as a button in game.

Thanks so far.. but still can use the answers to my question.

Thanks,
Demon

Those will slow the game down. you never know there might not be a way to fix this.

Since we can't get it pinned i'm going to post the new compatibility site Dwhitt and I have made:

http://pcsx.tripod.com

It only has 3 games at the moment but as it has a form with specific required fields it is organised so submit all the games you have tried now!

(by the way don't flame because of the host there's nothing wrong with it)
