4 Player Nes Support?
« on: June 22, 2003, 12:46:00 PM »

I have been hoping that fce would support 4 players for games such as super spike vball and most importantly - off road.  However, i don't believe that 4 players are supported by fce.  Is there any nes emulator that allows 4 player compatibility? (not including xnes- because the sound and gameplay lags up terribly)  I noticed that Xport said he would update his FCE and my only suggestion is to add 4 player support. Very appreciative of the help - and especially the emulators :)

I'm not sure about 4 players... The NES console only had (2) controller ports, so I doubt there is a game where you can select a 3rd or 4th player, even if the EMU supported it  <_<

Wasn't there a multitap for snes?

I thought they came out with one for that game Faceball 2000.

My memory has trouble remembering yesterday though, so heck if I really know.

IIRC World Cup on the NES was a 4 player Multitap game, so there must be quite a lot of them on the NES.

I remember a peripheral for the NES called the Satellite; it plugged into the second controller port and added four more controller plugin ports, for a total of five, but I don't think any games that I played ever used five players.  The only two games I can think of that used four players were Super Spike V'Ball and Nintendo World Cup, or at least, that's what I think the name was.
