...well this is just a hobby you see, I don't live and breathe , and I definatly don't follow advertising hype, I follow technology, thus the XBOX has became an extension of my hobbies to escapse some of real lifes less finer points such as loosing your best friend, and spiritual adviser to cancer.

Kram: It is not so much the GFX of the PS2, but how far it can be pushed, and the fact that it is over priced and over hyped for what it "really" is.

I think you just read some website and said 'hm ok this sounds good.'
So some real research before you think the ps2 from a technological standpoint has major issues.
Oh yeah, with regards to your idea that 4MB vram is a real problem for the ps2, well if you understood the arch you'd realize it really isn't a problem.

This isn't a PC so don't think in terms of PCs, even though you can do that with the xbox, that has never been the case with other gaming consoles.

Unreliable and looking long in the tooth is what it really is but it does have some beautiful games and if I hadn't bought my box for media player I'd have bought a PS2.

ur such an Ed why would u buyy a GayCube its for little 8 year old kids... and SUper Mario SUNSHINE is not impressive..i personally like Super Mario 64 MORE...GameCube games just dont cut it...they spoiled it with EVERY game that was origianlly on the N64...Super Smash for gamecube sux (rocked on N64) and same with mario and zelda...they were good on the N64 and now GAYCUBE spoiled it...im just saying...the price of gamecube ($150) add like $100 more and build urself a nice computer...

and I still think Mario or Zelda beat every game on that list hands down. You listed some good Xbox games, but nothing even comparable to Zelda.. and you have also listed A LOT of SHIT games .. plus.. Cross platform and PC port games do not count.

The ONLY game you listed that I feel is worth anything is Buffy, and I am unsure if that one is cross platform or not.. ALL First Person Shooters SUCK on consoles without mouse/kb support. Yes, EVEN the beloved Halo.. Spend 5 mins playing some MoH:Spearhead on a PC and tell me that MoH on Xbox is even 1/2 the game it is on the PC.

Bullshit... IMHO opion Halo and Project Gotham are better than any Gamecube game (ok maybe not supermonkey ball) because i hat RPGs such as zelda!

If you're looking for excellent emulation and media players, you're gonna wanna get an Xbox.

If you're looking for a lot of really, really good games you're gonna want to get a PS2.

If you're looking really, really, really good games (but the number of games come in short supply) you're gonna want to get a GameCube.

If you want good games and emulation, the only thing you can do is get all 3 systems.

In my opinion, the XBOX is priceless once its modded. I have a PS2 and haven't touched it for months. And since I only buy games sparingly, I want to make sure those games are really good with replay value. In fact, I bought an XBOX just to play Halo and have no regrets. The PS2 on the other hand just doesnt appeal to me, which is why I'm going to grab a gamecube too. It doesnt have as many games as other systems, but the good ones are absolutely top notch-the best bang for your buck.
