I pretty much agree with what Zach McRoflomglol and a couple other people said. The contest was sort of a special exception to motivate those with the knowhow to program (or attempt to program) a working n64 emu since deadlus-x was dead in the water. Even that though, for what it did and what it showed was possible to do, was amazing. All of them so far have been very impressive. But almost every homebrew app I have seen thus far has been impressive. XBMP for example, probably gets more use than any of the games or emus on my xbox do. Whoever was responsible for it deserves five times the prize money of the n64 contest for what they've done. However, if you start tossing money to everyone who creates a new app you sort of set a precedent, and eventually those responsible will begin expecting it.
