OK fine, I will just ask, what file extension is used, .v64? .n64? Etc..?

So far, .v64, .rom, .z64, and .usa have worked for me.

CONGRAUTLATIONS!

After reading that irc transcript, I would have to say I once again agree with Iriez. Who knows, we could ALL be suprised, and see an UltraHLE port outdo a PJ64 port, but let's be honest here... PJ64 is the better *all around* emulator for the N64, so it only makes sense that the xbox port will be better too...

Remember, you can't expect a port to tremendously outperform the code that it was ported from. If that is the case, it is no longer a "port", but a complete overhaul. Overhauling UltraHLE after porting it to the xbox? My money is on PJ64 in the long run, though I am glad to see some competition  wink.gif

what the hell are you talking about? pj64 can run more roms but who cares the n64 only has a few good titles and ultraxle not only plays most of them but plays them much better.

sorry to be so lame,

i tried 3 roms of banjo kazooie, and only 1 worked, i think it is the USA rom.
well the game runs fast,perfect
but playing ... the character named bottles gives me all the startup moves, and asks me to meet him on top of the mountain, i get to the top of the mountain and there he is, he asks me to meet him inside the mountain and  he DOESNT fix the bridge so i can cross.

is this some kind of copy protection? do i need any special rom release or hacked rom?
thanks

Why don't they incorporate the 2 emu's together. Just so you can choose it at plug-in selection dialog. If the 2 dev's would join we would have the best emu of all... Just an idea, Iriez could you ask the dev's how they stand about joining forces?? That we be so killer

The author ported it specifically for those. Im very happy that he did. I also spoke with him briefly with an idea..

Making it so that you can rename the ultraxle.xbe to PJ64-daed.xbe and launch it in PJ64-X ...that way you can use a single emulator with higher compatibilty. Or vice versa if the UltraXLE author feels like creating a new UI that can launch PJ64-X xbe's. Either way we will work something out for the end users =)

Sorry... Missed my point. The point I was trying to make is that PJ64 has a better shot at running *most* of the games. It is just a matter of time before PJ64 runs these carts perfectly...

And I disagree, I think the N64 has about 100 good titles. (Out of the 300 or so released int the US)

But great work oDD on the port of UltraHLE as said UltraHLE runs a few games GREAT and Pj64-x runs alot of games some good, some so so. Both of them serve a different purpose.

Trunks i realize that the "auther" of pj64x obviosly did a very good job on porting and put in a lot of work to get it work with only 64mb of ram and it is a good port but i  just feel that ultraxle is better.

It is hard to say one is better than the other. Ultra doesn't play many games, so thats a limitation. For some games you'll need to use PJ for some you'll need to use Ultra. What's so hard about this? Why do we need to say one is better? And if you are comparing tem, it's a hard case to make that Ultra is better, It MAY be better coded as in faster, but it has low compatiblity. Both of these are great.

farmerfred... back to what you were asking.  Yes, it was indeed after hitting start.  I was selecting the sword I just picked up and then it died on me.

roms can be tricky.. sometimes renaming them to simple names, like from their GoodN64 name to something like Zelda.v64 will get a game recognised better.  Also try using US roms, instead of EU.

That's IT! The roms it was not recognizing where the ones with a "." in the middle of the name, such as "Vs."

Thanks for the tip! Nice and easy to fix...
