It mentions in the usual places that this was released with an input bug.  You'll probably want to wait until the porter fixes this.

Now, I am not as wise as most when it pertains to the EMU scene, but wouldn't a porter's first "input" concern be the start button? Let me know if I am wrong...

He does mention in the nfo that this is his first xbox app. Pretty good for a first try! (even without the "start" button blink.gif )

cut him some slack...i remember the first alpha i released of xSnes9x - i had a million bugs...some were downright unforgivable by "todays standards" (the public seem to expect so much more)

you know bugs like this will be fixed, props to the author

Hey I wasn't meaning anything bad directed to the porter, in fact I am freakin impressed by him, and I haven't even tried the EMU out yet...

Heck I thank him for caring about the community enough to spend his time putting this together for us. Wherever we send donations to, sign me up!

Just wanted to make myself clear, that I was just asking a question in which I didn't even know the exact answer to.

Oh well, another N64 emulator, cool!  Means differnet compatibility!

Now it's like Mame-X vs MameoX

This seems to run Mario 64 perfectly... minus not being able to start it of course. :-) But I have it running through the demo loop now and I haven't heard 1 sound error or pop yet. This emu is looking good already.

MT

EDIT - It does seem to have some Vsync issues tho. Lots of tearing, but hey, I'll take that with perfect sound thanks. :-)

I remember the PC version playing Goldeneye when it first came out, so I'm pretty excited for this release. I too will wait for the input bug to get fixed though. Mad props to the author.

You know its funny because this is exactly what I suspected would happen. Everybody would expect a lot of the contest, then shortly after the contest was over an even better emulator would be released separately, non rushed (read, quality not quantity), and its more likely to see more revisions, where the contest funded emulator is likely to be just tossed aside.

There were too many things wrong with the n64 emulator contest from the very beginning, though this happened much sooner than I expected.

You, and many other who felt this way, may be proven correct over time. However, the donations given by people are not going un-noticed. Look at all the attention N64 is getting right now in the scene. It was WELL WORTH having the contest in my opinion!  beerchug.gif

Well, I still think its a shame that the money that went to this contest went to waste. It would be nice as hell to once and for all have 3d support in the openXDK or something, this way we don't have to keep the homebrewn stuff underground/illegal.
