i cant wait until st-v emulation is taken care of. then people will stop being crazy for the game once everyone can play it.

I hear the creaters of mame are working on this.

they are. lok at the newest mame sources. since .66 it is being worked on. no video, but sound and ram emulation are almost perfect. video is about 15% i would say judging by the progress.

Wasn't there at least two Japanese groups working on a Saturn Emulator?  I know one got one to a decent level of compatibility, but not sure how far it got (I don't think it was called Giri Giri though).

Need to search.

And if anyone wants to feel anymore nostalgic, I've got a few Saturn scans at http://www.classicga...com/japangaming

Also, I'm not a shooter fan, but RS is amazing - the fact that it's a Saturn release only is just another reason to buy one.

nice idea Saturn WAs the best of it's time

I beg to differ, 3d0 was the best of its time.  Before its time I might add as well. If the 3d0 came out the same time as the psx, we would be playing the 3d02 not the psx, the psx would have failed. But trip hawkins is a moron.

Why do people always root for the underdogs, even when they SUCK?

"If TG16 was marketed better we would be playing TG64 right now."

Turbografx 16 may not have had the best marketing, but the reason it failed was because the games SUCK.  I know there are some gems, but not nearly as much as Genesis, and even Genesis was worse than SNES.  It is the same with 3do.  I have a 3do.  I have a CD-i.  I have a PSX.  I have a TG16.  I have a PSX.  I have a Genesis.  I have an SNES.  I have played many, many games on them over the years, and I don't really think ANYTHING could have saved 3do.

I think a general rule of thumb is, if a system has porn, it will fail.  I mean games totally dedicated to porn, not like BMXXXX.  Atari 2600 and NES don't count. smile.gif

I also have a Saturn.  It wasn't the best of anything.  It was a decent system, but paled in comparison to the N64.  I never liked PSX, but it did have some fun games.

I can name a ass load or 3d0 games that are straight classics. Awesome games. Lucines quest need 4 speed road rash way of the warrior killing time street fighter was awesome on this system, there was even a game show game that had hours and hours and hours of replay value. Gex was very tight on this system, never played it on any others, return fire ruled, this was also the only console to ever get thayers quest, a great game and a rare console  find. demolition man total eclipse alone in the dark was nice on this system It even had some sweet gun games that i played faithfully mad dog mecre and some cop game. Its been years but i can name more. there was a couple awesome shooters in the mix as well. Oh yeah fucking madden, madden ruled on this system anyone who ever played it can back me up. There are alot more i just cant think right now its like 330 am!

and fucking killing time? this games grafx rivaled the psx (along with other 3d0 games) and it came out like 4 yrs before the damn system. i think it also had a 1337 port of wolfenstien and doom. I will reply tommoro with alot of other awesome games for this console that was way ahead of its time.

Play these games with a goldstar 3DO and you´ll have fully 60 Htz and no more
4 boarders around the screen

I don't know if I can trust this, as all 3do systems were built to the exact same specs.

Anyway, SNES could handle Doom.  Freakin DIGITAL CAMARAS can handle Doom.  Nuff said.

if you think getting radiant silvergun is expensive, try panzer dragoon saga.

one of my favorite games wink.gif

it depends. either radiant or saga fetch anywhere from 150-300 on any given day.

although no game can touch the outrageous price a mint dracula x with spine card. 400+? thats insane.

I hate to tell you but he snes versions of doom and wolfenstien were terrible. The games had too much slowdown and lacked certain parts of the game. plus the graphics were so blurry. the first game system to even handle any of the old school first person shooters was Sega Genesis 32x and even it had some issues. then there was psx and saturn.

Yes there was SSF and Giri Giri project. (sega bought Giri giri and after some enhancements used it for theri rental system) I think SSF is discontinued.

everyone seams to hink this but it is not true. I am a 3do fan and love the game but you got to just say it. 3do was not a 3d powerhouse. infact 3d graphics suffered in most games. psx had a much better 3d graphics cpu and could push alot mopre polys. BTW killing time had old school doom like graphics. The real video rules though.

Killing time was awesome, great game. And this was the only game to ever make me turn the lights on. But i was young then heh heh. As for the snes and doom or wolfenstiend fuck that.

Go play the 3do version it was the last good old school remake. I think it was better than all others who try to oppose it honestly. Like I said the 3do was a great system that was before its time, and I do belive I had a 3do more than 2 years before it was released in the US, I could be wrong though.

Chances of this are very very slim though, the Saturn is like the Atari Jaguar. (A Nightmare to Emulate)
