hey guys - i just got my japanese friend to do me a favor and translate todays hikaru news.  He's not that much into computers so please mind minor errors if there are any

- Graphics 50% (Daedalus Graphics v0.08b-pre4)
- Audio 0%
- Input 85%

- Screen shot function
- Support save data
- Add CPU mode

The frame rate is about 120 since the GPU is emulated through direct X, and right now, we are compiling the information for the sound, but hasn't been progressing.

As for the graphics, the plugins are just about completely transplanted.

the input is also almost finished; it's still not compatible with the vibrator pack, but the 3D stick on both analog sticks are functional (for the xbox controller, the stick isn't returning to its center position, so we are callibrating it), the c button unit can be used by pressing on the left stick and ABXY simultaneously (this will also be calibrated)

We have readied the settings for the CPU, and the legend of zelda is working.  (when we tested it, it stopped around the area where zelda first meets the fairy. there's not enough memory)

anyone have the problem in mario after you get a star the game crashes??

this is damn annoying because on his hompage it shows the screen after a star has been got so it obviosly doesent crash in the jap version of the rom

CyRUS64 you should be grateful that someone is working on the emulator again.  It is true that at this point the emulator is quite unstable and with no sounds but I am sure Hikaru knows more about N64 emulation than me and you.  I think you should give some well deserved credit to Hikaru.

And Hikaru seems very decent and a nice guy to be porting the emu so i have no problem with that. All i'm saying is people can be all to quicky to forget that the real work is writing the emu in the first place.. StrmnNrmn, the main author of Daedalus, spent several years writing the emulator, but ported it to the x-box in <1 day minus sound and saving wink.gif (if you happen to find his leaked version you'll see it even plays games like Zelda at too high speeds..)

And to port an emu you really need to know very little about the hardware. I'm pretty sure I know more about n64 and especially dc (http://icarus.boob.co.uk) then Hikaru wink.gif

All props to this guy.  All the other EMU's are cool, even the PS1.....  but damn, the N64 emu is the shiznit.  

Goldeneye is the greatest, and PERFECT DARK is only better.  I cant wait, if you ask me, GOLDENEYE is the Grandaddy of HALO- the best game ever made.

CANT WAIT FOR HALO 2  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
