This is awesome biggrin.gif I can't wait to play Zelda: OoT on an Xbox, Keep up the good work man.

But I was thinking of this question before I  even saw this post, how are all of the buttons emulated properly? xbox has one less button than the N64 controller, unless you press down one one of the analog triggers to make the Z button (trigger) to work

If I remember, the N64 controller was like this:

A
B
C up
C left
C down
C right
Z
Analog stick
Dpad

Why not emulate the "Z" button as both/either of the Xbox triggers?

Too lazy to find the quote but someone said its fishy because he got some games working after 5 days then he said he's been working since Febuary. There is nothing fishy about that. He means when he started in Feb. it took him 5 days to get stuff running.

Let's give this guy a chance before we dismiss it...remember the Linux no-modchip stuff? Anyway, I cant wait to see something!

ok to all the skeptics out there, 5 days meant 5 days without sleeping. a lot of Redbul was exchanged in that time. but this is legit, we will be needing 10 beta testers in the coming days, possibly next week sometime. and to the person who ask what is the meaning of fine? it mean I got theroms to work pretty, good, except with some sound issues.

soplease dont bash me or the people who are also involved in this project. we are going as fast as we can to get this to work. and the only reason we said something was because it was close to beng done.

We will deliver just be nice.

EDIT- Please dont PM me on the forums, just email me  [email protected]

Also, please dont care about those stupid annoying ppl, harassing you about the emu! They are not representative of the xbox community and people (for most of them) just have great respect for emu coders. It need talent to code emus, and a lot of time and all that for free!

I really hope to be able to try your emu soon of course, but I can wait without being mean like some people do.

This is awesome.  Keep up the good work.  I would love to be a beta tester.  I can't wait to play Goldeneye, Rouge Spear, and Raw is War on the XBOX.  Besides, I have every USA Rom available for the N64.  Please consider me.

z's usually the trigger/gas...

since the left shoulder buttons hardly ever used cuz the way the games held, i think z should be left trigger and push-in-left-thumbstick be left shoulder

er.. the way the controllers held, not game. lol

I think this is the only sensible solution. It doesn't make sense to assign Z to the push-in-left/right-thumbstick - in games like GoldenEye you have to use the analog stick to move around and the Z trigger to shoot so I don't see how that would work if you'd assign the Z trigger to the push-in-left-thumbstick.

Finally, a question for the developers...

I know this isn't the right thing to ask at this point on in development but is the Xbox really capable of handling most N64 games at fullspeed despite the 733MHz Celeron processor? Or are N64 emulators more dependent on the videocard instead of MHzs? (which would make sense as most popular N64 emus are all based around plugins)

I know for a fact that my 700MHz Athlon can't get any N64 game to run at a steady 60FPS on Project64 or 1964, but that's with a Geforce1 DDR, and I know that makes a world of difference. So I'm intrigued how well the Xbox will perform in this regard. Guess we'll just have to wait for this Daedalus port to mature to find out...
