He wouldn't have any expectations to live up to if he didn't post all the crap he posted. He could have simply said, "Yo, I'm working on a N64 emulator, should release a beta sometime around 4/20", and, while some of the flaming would have occured, he'd have absolutely NO expectations to work towards. He'd only have to make a N64 emulator that works... not well, not fast, not even with sound or Virtual/Swap memory. He called all this shit upon himself, and if he was a serious devver, he wouldn't have announced it a week or two beforehand and he wouldn't be offended when he put out claims that people would easily doubt and got the return that was expected.

Disagree.  If he had sound or even better virtual memory.  He'd be the shit and I'd be the first to tell him and I'm sure all the other skeptics would too.

Forums have always been a haven for flaming.  If you say stop, you will be the next victim of a flame so why bother?  Can you imagine a forum without skeptics?  It would be boring as shit.

I still stongly think this emu is bogus but if it comes out I will give Lunar the props that diserves until then, no props for Lunar.

He could've done all that, but didn't.  Doesn't make him a non-"serious" developer.  Just look at the Avalaunch crew.  They announced their new dashboard about a week or two before planning on releasing it and are promising *a lot* of features for it that have never been put on a dashboard and have even talked about how easy it is building it.  

No one's been getting down on them.  The most skepticism they got was from me because the guys name was Joker and said that they started building it on April 1st.

Nexgen crew did the same thing...and after all the flaming they almost dropped the project all together.

I don't think that stuff made him a non-"serious" developer, and think he should have every right to react in a defensive manner.

The two applications you mentioned at least have screenshots. NeXGen got ragged on WAY hard, I agree... but that's because the team developing the program was closely affiliated with the Xecuter Team, and we all know how proud the Xecuter Team is.... so people were expecting alot, even from an alpha. Still, NeXGen had no logical reason to be ragged upon so harshly.
Point being, at least the above provided a screenshot or two, to prove that there's SOMETHING, even just a doctored image. This guy's produced nothing in the way of proof... should he really be so surprised that he's being flamed?
So I guess my response is no, he has no reason to get defensive. He knew what would happen; a retarded ape could've guessed it. Now that it has, he should not be as the child who complains of a cough but does not accept the medicine for fear of the taste.

Did you bother to read the last couple of pages? There's no one ranting about it being real anymore. Yes, alot of people (including myself) are hoping against the odds, but that doesn't mean we actually believe it's not a fake.
Oh, and I believe the term 'stupid' applies to the one who doesn't read most of the thread but replies as if he did anyhow. Wouldn't you agree?
