Frodox C64 Emulator

I can't get the FrodoX C64 emulator to work. It starts fine, get the list of games, but when I choose a game (and press A), I only get the standard C64 screen, and nothing happens. The game doesnt load. Just see the standard C64 screen. Can anyone please tell me the secret trick to get this emulator working?

Come on! Read the Instructions!

After you have selected the game file and it returns to the C64 screen, just press the Left Thumbstick button to load...

Having similar problems with Frodo-X beta 1.. all the bioses in the right places but all I get after pressing left thumbstick is the clean blue screen when trying to load anything..
Doesn't matter which rom or how I try loading it.. with or without turbo..

Could someone who's got it working please tell me what to do..?
Dying to play Archon on my Xbox against some friends again..

Is there any newer version.. or maybe bugfix?
Or are there any other emulators for the C64 out?

My setup is Evox 2.6, 120gb HD, Evox 3752 dash.. tried older Evox dashes/bioses..

Most games seem to work for me .. as the instructions say you load the game by clicking the left thumb...

btw. you can use some 'real 1541 emulation' or something like that if you select game with right-thumb click...

But i'm really missing a better menu with more options in frodo-x ...

DragonZ, Lantus or Flagg ?

Are you working on a 2. release ?

I really miss a better C64 emulator ... :) and I guess i'm not the only one :)

Are anyone else working on other C64-ports ?

There was a thread on a forum the other day (not here) from the frodo-x emulator author, he said that he was working on a new version, which includes (crucially) simulated keyboard support a la uae-x. Thats what I need to play 'Thing on a spring'.... ;)

I wish all Emulator ports for the XBox would allow a keyboard connected through USB to work. So far I think WinSTon is the only emulator that does this.

Found the solution to my loading problem.. took the BIOS set from CCS64 for the PC and replaced the ones included with Frodo.. worked!!

Now I can play the greatest multiplayer board/strategy game again!! *happy*  :luv:

Too bad Bruce Lee doesn't work.. :(  ..but hey.. u can't get everything at once!

The only thing missing now is keyboard support.. as everyone says.. would be very nice with usb keyboard support too!


Kudos goes to Lantus and his companions for bringing us some childhood memories back again!! BIG thanx to you guys!!  :beer:

Anyone wanna challenge Frodo-X with, say.. a port of the very well working emu CCS64..? Would be nice to have a full working CCS64-X..?

Keep up the excellent work guys.. I'ts appreciated!!

Please release FrodoX source code. Frodo is GPL!! we will see keyboard support very quickly once this has been done! Please make the FrodoX sources available. Frodo is GPL!!

From what I know you dont have to release the sources unless you change it, and a straight port doesnt change any of the code.  ;)

Its more than just a straight port, its been recompiled, has a new render/input/sound path + a host of missing features. Needs to be released :-)
