Check the version if you are in the Europe, you will need a TV that supports NTSC 60 some TVs Europe still only support PAL 50, thus causing the blank screen effect. I think you can tweak the ini file to over come this problem.

Worked great for me. I also suggest you check the xsnes version you have. I do know that its not a regular .smc file its got a wierd file extension.
