Ok and I assigned a key for set game matrix, well matrix loads into Quake 2's fist stage with normal enemies and weapons, but sooner or later it crashes.  Ok....

I am lost again.

well its working lol some what maybe u got a couple files messed up or soemthing but as u say if the first stage loads and every thing is ok then its the game mod. Maybe theres a patch for that mod?

No, I hooked up a keyboard and mouse on day one, and they did not work.

As for Matrix, Gloom, Rogue, or any other SP expansion for Quake 2.

When you assign a key to set the game, you have to press that key once a game is already started, then it will tell you that those options will be active next time you start Quake 2. But when you start a new game, it does infact load the new settings, because I was able to run on walls and stuff because of the Matrix MOD, the only problem is that it simply loads you into the same old Quake 2 levels with the same old weapons, it is as if Quake 2 insists that you set your game to Matrix or what ever, on start up, which is NOT possible without a menu of some sort which is exactly what I have written the author ten million times about, and have revieved no responce. :/

If ANYONE can find a way to get around this problem, please let me know, the death match agianst a PC is kool and all, but what would really get my rocks off is to play all those enhanced single player missions for Quake 2.
