Why Can't Mamex Handle Games Bigger Games?
« on: December 30, 2002, 11:24:00 PM »

Obviously Xbox can handle games bigger than 50 some megs. I was just wondering why Mame X has to have the entire thing in ram when it plays.  Maybe in the future it will be able to just load the parts it needs, when it needs them? (Yes, I meant that last part as a question.)

I got them all and they rule! thanks!

I don't see why it can't be loaded outside of the ram, doesn't the xbox have fast access between the devices as compared to the PC?

make it so that larger than 50 meg games load off HD, I don't think it'd be a pain, but after doing my hunt, I don't think I've seen much over a few meg??

I don't have my Xbox yet (pre-ordered X2 Pro), so I don't really know about Mame X.  But just poking around these forums, I have learned that it can't handle Metal Slug 3 because it is too big.  I don't know about other games.
