There is no such thing as a .bin Snes rom. Snes roms are all .smc files. Either somebody added the .bin extension onto the end or they are in some ghetto zip format i've never heard of. Try taking the .bin part off of the end.
As for screen size, while in a game, click the right thumbstick and go to adjust screen size. Then use the thumbsticks to adjust it. Do this with a game that is very "bright" so it's easier to tell.
