You'll need to FULLY merge your ROMs. That is ALL of the ROMs and the clones for any game(s) should be in ONE zipfile.
MameX needs to be able to unzip the files, yet have enough ram to load the game. As a result it doesn't look to other rom zips for needed files.
I've tested and verified this.
Since a lot of ROMS are interdependant, you'll need a full merge. This must also include basic/bios roms, such as the NeoGeo ones!
