Xapt3r V1.6 On Xbox 1.6
« on: February 10, 2006, 11:25:00 PM »

We have a xbox 1.6 that we verified both with the serial and by looking at the video and ram chips. We got a xecuter 3ce with the Xapt3r 1.6(with 5 wires). When we put the Xapt3r on the motherboard and try to put the wires in the corresponding holes, 3 of the 5 holes are filled and the wires won't go through. We are thinking of 3 different senarios:

1. We need to poke holes in the ones that are sealed, but if we do, is there a safe way of doing it? Also what are the risks with this method?

2. Our version of xbox is not what the guide told us it is. If so, do we need different Xapt3r ?

3. We put on the Xapt3r and just not connect the ones whose holes are filled and tape the ends of them as well. Will this work?

Here's a link to the diagram of how it's supposed to look like.

Holes B, C, and E are closed on our motherboard. Any recomendations?

I've heard of people using small pins to poke through the motherboard lacquer. I'd say either do that... or do a pin header/rebuild install. If you aren't comfortable soldering... try the pins... but be very careful.

If u use a push pin, grip it tight and slowly push hard while twisting back and fourth, u should be able to safely remove the solder from the hole.
