A Question About Porting To The Xbox
« on: May 23, 2008, 04:08:00 AM »

An xbox needs to be modded before it can play homebrew games.
The xbox and xbox360 are totally different hardware platforms.
So it is not like you can recompile your program and it will run on the 360 as well.
I don't think it's possible to run homebrew xbox code on the 360. It will only accept original xbox games.

To be compatible with every xbox, a game needs to be signed. To sign it, you need a private code which is only known by microsoft.

An original game contains a field that describes from what media the code can be executed. It was my understanding that the xbox360 modchips alter the dvd rom in such a way that even backup media is reported as original.

regards.
