You can't use an Xbox 360 controller on an original Xbox.

Also, asking the question only once would have been sufficient.

Can someone enlighten me on if it would be possible, and if so what would be involved in making the Xbox 360 Wireless controller work with the Xbox1 via the "Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows"? I just modded my Xbox1 last weekend, so I'm pretty new to this whole scene. I have a decent amount of experience in Assembly and C programming, and some experience in many other languages, so I figure if this is possible, then I may take a stab at it.

I've gotten pretty used to my wireless 360 controllers, and now that I've been using my Xbox1 again these cords have got to go!! I could just buy some wireless Xbox1 controllers, but where's the challenge in that!

Thanks in advance!

Try to compile a program with OpenXDK, under cygwin for example (see pbKit changelog for useful links to tutorials).
In C:\cygwin\usr\home\OpenXDK\src\usb subdirectory you will find source of libusb.a
I guess most linux sources or open dev kits share the same usb driver source.
By adding traces there, you might find a way to have other controllers recognized as the usual controller.

just bumping the thread and asking the same question 7 months later, has anything been created to use the Xbox 360 wireless controller on the original Xbox?

They're not compatible even though it's a USB device, so I wouldn't bet on it...
